Hearts Good For Leow Not For Tang

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We caught the tail end of a huge hand that recently went down between Devan Tang and Ivan Leow that saw the Malaysian player earn a full double at Tang's expense. We missed all the action but Hong Kong's Danny Tang was kind enough to fill us in on the details.

It was Leow who was the instigator, opening the action from under-the-gun, with Tang defending from the big blind. The flop came down {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs} with Tang check-calling Leow's continuation bet and the {8-Hearts} came in on the turn. The betting pattern repeated with the {9-Hearts} river completing the hand.

This is when all the chips went in, and it was a bit of a cooler. Tang had {q-Hearts}{x-Hearts} for the rivered backdoor flush, but was trailing to Leow's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} with the Malaysian making the nuts to take a big bite out of Tang's stack and climb to near the top of the counts with a stack of 250,000. Tang still has chips, just not as many as before and dropped to 85,000.
