Field Still Growing
It's shaping up to be a busy day here at the poker tables of the Venetian Hotel & Resort and the Day 1B OPC Main Event field has grown to 257 entrants, with 216 of these still in action.
Some of the more recent arrivals include Singapore's Alex Lee, who will be looking to add to the slew of poker titles already on his resume. Lee has over US$500,000 in live tournament cashes to his name, including a WPT High Roller and an Aussie Millon's side event title and will be looking to add more flags to his Hendonmob player profile.
Hong Kong's Danny Tang is also another recent arrival, fresh from his final table appearance in yesterday's OPC High Roller, and he will be hoping to go on yet another deep run in the Main Event.
More recognizable faces include China's Alvan Zheng and the USA's Benjamin Hamnett, both of whom boast over US$1-million in live tournament cashes apiece. Zheng does not appear to have got off to the best of starts and has dropped down to 19,000, while Hamnett is chugging along nicely with closer to 50,000.
They have some catching up to do if they want to catch the frontrunners Carson Wong and Jeho Lee who are both sitting on stacks of over 100k, with Lee holding a slender lead over the field at present and looks to be sitting on a stack of 115,000.
