Liang Folds Out Lai

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Another recent arrival to the OPC tournament arena is 'Derx' Kwok Chun Lai, who has not long taken his seat over on Carson Wong's table and is seated to his direct left. With over US$300,000 in live tournament winnings to his name, as well as multiple tournament titles the Hong Kong player is a familiar face on the Macau tournament circuit.

Lai wasted no time getting into the action, opening to 1,500 from the cutoff, with big blind Li Xin Liang the only caller. Liang checked the {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop over to Lai, who fired out a c-bet of 3,100 and looked extremely surprised to see Liang toss out a check-raise to 6,200.

That did not deter him from making the call though, bringing both players to the {2-Hearts} turn, which was checked around. Liang bombed the {k-Diamonds} river for 14,000 and Lai looked like he wanted to ask neighboring Wong what to do, but eventually mucked and immediately started talking to Wong about the hand. Liang seemed happy enough to win without showdown and climbed up to 72,000, while Lai dropped to 27,000.
