Not Thrilled

The flop was {Q-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {5-Clubs} and two players checked to Will "The Thrill" Failla. He fired a bet of an unknown amount and got only one of the players to fold. The turn brought the {2-Spades} and the player that came along checked to Failla. He fired out 800 this time and his opponent called.

The river was the {A-Hearts} and action went check, check. "One pair." announced Failla. His opponent turned over {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} as Failla flashed a pair of eights before mucking.

Failla is down to a not-so-thrilling 9,400.

Prager Goes Out

Josh Prager
Josh Prager
Josh Prager was all in before the flop with {A-?} {K-?}, and Stephanie Alderman looked him up with the bigger stack and a pocket pair: {8-?} {8-?}.

The board ran out dry for the pro, and Prager wished his table luck before slowly pacing out the door.

Brady Climbing Back

Action folded around to the small blind and he raised to 600 with Matt Brady still to act in the big blind. Brady made the call and the two players witnessed a flop of {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. The small blind checked and Brady fired 800. The small blind called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {K-Diamonds} fall on the river. The small blind led with a bet of 1,600 and Brady called.

The small blind rolled over {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for a missed draw and Brady was awarded the pot holding {9-Spades} {6-Spades}. The defending champ is back up to 14,000 chips.

Bye, Bye, Boeree

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree
Team UB Pro Liv Boeree has become the most recent casualty of Day 1b.

Mike "WiscoMurry" Murry opened the pot with a raise to 525 before Boeree popped it up to 2,000. When the player behind her re-raised again, she moved all in for just over 7,000. Her opponent called with pocket queens, putting Liv and her pocket tens at risk of elimination.

The board ran out blanks, and Boeree's day is done. Since we didn't have a chance to mention her so far, here's a picture of Ms. Boeree for your enjoyment.

Cantu Can't Bully His Opponent

A player opened with a raise to 500 from middle position and Brandon Cantu called on the button. The big blind also called. The three players took a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {6-Spades}. After the big blind checked, the preflop raiser fired a continuation bet of 1,600. Cantu jacked the action up with a raise to 4,525. The big blind silently folded and then the player took some time to go over his decision.

The result was an all-in reraise from Cantu's opponent to make it approximately 12,000 total. Cantu looked disgusted as he checked his hand once more before flinging it towards the muck pile. Cantu dropped to 24,500.
