Nine Survivors

101 PaddyPower qualifiers started yesterday, of whom nine now remain. Whichever one of these gents (only gents remain now) turns out to be the last qualifier standing will walk away with €100,000 in a combination of cash and tournament buy-ins, so the tension among the last nine qualifiers in their grey "Sole Survivor" hoodies is really mounting now.

Zimbler Nimbler

A confident Paul Zimbler approached us during the break to say that he'd reached the giddy heights of 133,000 and had "All day to take it slow, keep building. All day and all day tomorrow..."

Nevertheless, he's gotten his stack involved, recently busting Kenan Miezelmoe with {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} vs. {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}, the remains of Miezelmoe's stack going in on a board which showed two queens and a nine. No help after the all in and he's the first to bust after the dinner break.

Tierney Sucks Out

Paul Gourlay is short after a nasty outdraw. He called Paul Tierney's all in, and it looked for certain like it was going to be a chop.

Gourlay: {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}
Paul Tierney: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {7-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}

Oh dear. Gourlay thumped the table, hard, and wandered off for a moment to shout an expletive. Tierney doubled up to stay in the game.
