Declan Connolly Eliminated In 7th Place (€75,000)

Declan Connolly - 7th
Declan Connolly - 7th
Paul Carr raised to 65,000 from late position and Declan Connolly reraised to 200,000 out of the blinds. An instant all-in from Carr and Connolly thought for a few seconds before calling! The biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Carr: {10-Hearts} {10-Spades}
Connolly: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}

The board came {7-Hearts} {J-Spades} {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} and Carr had Connolly covered, celebrating the fact he now had the chip lead.

Slow Progress

Rob Sherwood and James Mitchell both take it in turns to pick up the blinds and antes uncontested with a preflop raise of 53,000. Slow progress at the moment.

Peter Murphy Eliminated In 8th Place (€56,300)

Peter Murphy - 8th
Peter Murphy - 8th
Peter Murphy raised preflop and James Mitchell moved all-in from the blinds. Murphy made the snap-call.

Murphy: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Mitchell: {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts}

Mitchell was about to be entering a world of pain, but the board came {3-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}. Mitchell hitting another 3-outer but this time to knock out a player.

Rob Sherwood Doubles Through

In a battle of the blinds, Bob Sherwood (as the announcer is inexplicably calling him) gets it all in preflop against chip leader Santeri Valikoski in the small blind, the Finn making the final call.

Sherwood: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Valikoski: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

What a flop!

{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Rob goes off to celebrate with the rail, but is his chicken-counting premature?...

Turn: {10-Diamonds}

But despite the last minute panic, the river bricks out with the {K-Spades} and Bob doubles through.

Bobbin' Along

Rob Sherwood (who is being called 'Bob' by the TD to much hilarity from people who know him) raised preflop and Edmund Sweeney defended from the big blind.

The flop was {9-Clubs} {4-Spades} {6-Spades} and Sweeney checked and then immediately folded to Sherwood's all-in bet.

In the Driving Seat

Paul Carr made a standard raise from early position only for Declan Connolly to bump it up to 160,000 two seats along. Carr called, before check-folding to a bet of 80,000 on a {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.
