Van Marcus Eliminated in 3rd Place ($162,415)

Van Marcus - 3rd Place
Van Marcus - 3rd Place

Van Marcus was on the button with a little over 600,000 in chips. He moved them all into the middle saying, "All the money, baby!" Andreas Krause folded from the small blind before Mathieu Clavet quickly called from the big blind. Marcus held {A-}{6-}, but was very much dominated by the {A-}{J-} for Clavet.

"Six of spades, watch this," said Marcus before the flop.

Maybe he was talking about the cards that wouldn't come, because the flop came down {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and there wasn't much there for him to cling to. The turn brought the {7-Spades} and that would be all she wrote. The river completed the semantics of things with the {3-Clubs}.

Marcus would take home $162,415 for his third-place finish and left with a smile on his face, shaking the hands of the remaining two players. Marcus was the only Full Tilt Red Pro to make the final table and did the host site well with his deep run.

Krause Pushes Clavet Out

Andreas Krause
Andreas Krause

Mathieu Clavet raised to 110,000 on the button and Andreas Krause called from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Krause checked. Clavet bet 110,000 and Krause popped it to 360,000. Clavet took a moment before he called and when the {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn, Krause shoved with the big stack. Clavet went into the tank for about a minute before giving it up.

Krause showed a set of tens as he collected the pot. He is back up over 3,000,000 while Clavet drops to under 1,500,000.

Krause Gets There

Van Marcus raised on the button and Andreas Krause called from the small blind.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} and Krause check-called Marcus' bet of 150,000. The {7-Hearts} hit the turn and this time both players opted to see the free card. The {5-Spades} fell on the river and once again both checked, with Krause tabling {9-}{8-} for a straight. Marcus flashed a {10-} as the pot was pushed to Krause.

Mathieu Clavet raised on the button and Andreas Krause defended his big blind.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and both players checked. The {K-Diamonds} hit the turn and Krause checked again. Clavet bet 120,000, getting a quick call from Krause. The river brought the {Q-Spades} and Krause checked. Clavet fired 300,000 and Krause again made a quick call, mucking when Clavet tabled {J-}{6-} for a straight.
