Selbst Bluffs

Level 3
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

Alexander Dovzhenko opened for 500 from the hijack and Vanessa Selbst three bet to 1,200 from the cutoff. Anatoly Filatov cold called from the big blind, Dovzhenko folded.

Filatov checked on {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Selbst checked back.

The {4-Clubs} fell on the turn and Filatov bet out 1,400 from the big blind. Selbst made the call in position.

The river came the {Q-Hearts} and Filatov bet 2,450.

Selbst tanked for a bit, and with just 7 seconds left, she grabbed a pile of 1,000 chips and placed them in the middle.

We're unsure how much it exactly was, but we're sure Filatov folded saying something along the lines of "You only have one bluff here ever".

Selbst showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} with a big grin on her face.

Table Talk

Level 3

Over on table 1, all eight players are still seated. We haven't seen any interesting hands just yet, but the table talk has been pretty entertaining.

First the conversation centered around Bryn Kenney's diamond necklace, and what it was worth.

Later the entire table, minus Patrick Bruel who was minding his own business, focused on smoking weed and getting busted doing it by the cops. Some players, which will remain unnamed for now, shared personal stories of getting busted. One even impersonated the cop busting him; "You're smoking weed on my street?!" The accent and furious voice the impersonating was done in had everyone laugh, including Bruel this time.

In the mean time, Oliver Price got his chips in before the flop against Soshnikov but both players had ace king and chopped it up.

Calm Before the Storm

Level 3

As we're kind of used to by now, the first few levels are rather quiet. Of course, some players bust, a set over set situation is a guaranteed bust out in this tournament, but mostly it's small pots.

In a bit, the structure of the tournament dictates more pushing and calling, and the bust outs will follow each other up rather quickly. We're ready for them, are you?

He's a Deadman

Level 3
Simon Deadman
Simon Deadman

Not good news for Team UK as Simon Deadman has busted first from Table 2. Only Ukraine are between them and the bottom relegation place on the league table, so points are really needed in this heat.

Team Canada's Sorel Mizzi opened from the button and called after Deadman shoved for 7,000 from the big blind.

Deadman: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Mizzi: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The board ran {2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}.
