Day 1b Started
The 2019 Canterbury Park Fall Poker Classic $1,100 Main Event sees its second and final flight Saturday.
Friday’s Day 1a drew 157 entries with 27 players already having advanced to Sunday’s Day 2 for this $300,000 guaranteed prize pool event, and like the first heat, cards are set to get in the air at noon local time. Day 1b is expected to be even larger: players such as Ian Matakis, Jesse Rockowitz, Mark Bloomberg, and Blake Bohn were among those who did not advance yesterday, and at least some of them are expected to be seen back in on the action when it begins.
Players will receive 20,000 in starting chips and play 14 levels for the day, each of 40 minutes in length. Blinds will start at 100/100 and finish at 1,500/3,000/3,000 with 10-minute breaks at the completion of every three levels of play and a 40-minute dinner break after Level 8.
Unlimited reentries are available, meaning players may fire as many times as they desire while the registration period is open. Registration closes at the beginning of Level 12 at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time.
Will anybody come close to Day 1a chip leader Jeff Petronack’s 377,500 in chips from this second and final flight? Stay tuned to PokerNews to find out.

There was 2,100 in the middle in a three-way pot between David Delaney in the small blind, Steve Wazwaz in the cutoff, and Barbara Blechinger who was on the button. Action was on the flop with a board reading and Delaney led out with a bet of 1,100. Wazwaz quickly folded and Blechinger made the call.
Action was then heads up as the turn came and both players checked. The river fell and Delaney checked to Blechinger, who threw out a bet of 2,000. Delaney thought for about 10 seconds and then sent his cards to the muck, saying that Blechinger got lucky in the process.
The dealer sent Blechinger the pot and she showed for the bottom end of a full house before raking in the pot.

Hand #1: A player in middle position limped in and Ian Matakis pumped it up to 500 from the cutoff. John McNee was on the button and called him, as did the big blind. The limper folded and action went three ways to the flop . The big blind and Matakis checked to put action onto McNee, who bet 400. The big blind folded and Matakis called.
With action heads up, both players checked the turn and the river fell . Matakis threw out a bet of 2,500 and McNee immediately dropped in a chip to call.
"Eight," said Matakis, turning over as he prepared to show the accompanying card. It went into the muck, however, as McNee responded to the verbal cue by tabling for a pair of aces to earn the pot.
Hand #2:
On the following hand, Matakis opened to 300 from the hijack and McNee threw in a three-bet to 1,300. Action made its way back to Matakis and he four-bet to 3,500. McNee quickly folded, showing with paint visible on the second card. Matakis tapped the felt to acknowledge the fold as he leaned forward to collect his bet as well as the rest of the pot.
