Lei Yu Eliminated in 8th Place (₩19,907,000)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Lei Yu
Lei Yu

Yang Zhang raised to 55,000 with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Lei Yu defended the {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs} in the big blind. On a {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Yu checked and faced a bet of 40,000 by Zhang to make the call and be left with just 180,000 behind.

After the {8-Hearts} turn, Yu checked once more and Zhang now made it 95,000 to go. Yu used several time banks before moving all in and Zhang called. The {9-Clubs} on the river was a blank, which sent Yu to the rail in 8th place for a payday of ₩19,907,000.

Duc Trung Vu Eliminated in 7th Place (₩27,090,000)

Duc Trung Vu

Kazuhiko Yotsushika raised to 60,000 with the {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Yang Zhang pushed in the small blind for more than 22 big blinds. Duc Trung Vu reluctantly called all in for 295,000 from the big blind and Yotsushika folded.

Duc Trung Vu: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Yang Zhang: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

On a board of {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} the deuces would have sent two players to the rail, instead Zhang moved up to one million in chips and Vu had to settle for 7th place and ₩27,090,000 for his efforts.

Two for Yotsushika

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Kazuhiko Yotsushika defended his big blind with the {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} after Feng Chen had raised with {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} in the cutoff and Yang Zhang flat-called on the button with {10-Spades}{9-Spades}. On a flop of {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Yotsushika bet quickly shut down all further action.

One hand later, another three-way pot emerged and Yotsushika bet the {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, Bin Wang folded a gutshot and Zhang as the initial raiser called with {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Another bet of Yotsushika on the {a-Hearts} turn won the pot uncontested.

Wang Wins Off Yotsushika

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In a battle under the gun versus big blind, Bin Wang raised it up with the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Kazuhiko Yotsushika defended the {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Yotsushika bet the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop and the {k-Spades} turn to create a pot of 540,000. They checked the {9-Spades} on the river and the kicker played to award the pot to Wang.

Zhang Wins Big Pot Against Wang

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Yang Zhang raised with the {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Bin Wang called in the small blind with {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, as did Feng Chen in the big blind with {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}. They checked the {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and the {a-Spades} fell on the turn.

Action checked to Zhang and he bet 115,000, Wang used a time bank extension and called while Chen folded.

The {4-Clubs} on the river paired the board and Wang checked once more. Zhang now bet 465,000 with very few chips behind. Wang reluctantly called and lost a big portion of his stack to be left with fewer than half a million.

Sun Takes Over The Lead

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Bin Sun opened the action with a raise to 65,000 in the hijack holding the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Kazuhiko Yotsushika three-bet to 165,000 with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} in the cutoff. The action folded back to Sun and he made the call to hit top pair on the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop.

Sun checked and called a first barrel for 100,000 to see the {5-Diamonds} turn, which he checked once more. Yotsushika made it 475,000 to go with a pure bluff and Sun called to create a pot of 1.4 million between the two chip leaders.

After the {k-Spades} river, Sun checked a third time and Yotsushika fired a third barrel for 500,000 to send Sun into the think tank. He already tossed in a time bank extension and then counted his remaining stack before making the call.

The biggest pot of the tournament so far vaulted Sun into a comfortable lead while Yotsushika dropped to third place.
