At 5 p.m. local time, Day 1 of the most-expensive tournament of the 2019 PokerStars LIVE Asia Red Dragon Jeju festival is scheduled to kick off at the Jeju Shinhwa World - Landing Casino. If the tournaments so far are any indication for what is to expect, another decent field may emerge in the ₩10,000,000 Super High Roller ($8,543).
The most popular festival of the Asia Pacific Region went from strength to strength in the initial ₩5,000,000 High Roller and the ₩2,500,000 Main Event, setting records on South Korean soil for both events.
A field of 155 entries in the ₩5,000,000 High Roller created a prize pool of ₩684,093,000 ($590,366) and it was Liuheng Dai who defeated Yang Zhang to claim his biggest payday on the live circuit thus far. Dai walked away with the top prize of ₩159,052,000 ($137,270) and may very well put a portion of his winnings to use in the Super High Roller.
There was also a Single-Day High Roller during Day 1b of the Main Event and Ben Lai topped a field of 32 entries, the top six spots were guaranteed a portion of the ₩141,232,000 ($121,460) prize pool. Lai defeated Ye Wang in heads-up and earned a payday of ₩48,018,000, he then went on to reach the final two tables of the Main Event.
Day 1 of the Super High Roller will play a total of nine levels of 40 minutes each and the late registration remains open until the start of Day 2 at 1 p.m. local time the following day. Similar to the other two High Roller tournaments, unlimited re-entries are available during the registration period.
The event features the popular big blind ante and a 30-second shot clock, which has become the standard for High Roller events all over the world in the last few years.

Since the Main Event required an additional tournament day due to the record-breaking field size, the PokerNews live updates will focus on the final table and once a champion has been crowned, the Super High Roller action will be picked up for the remainder of Day 1.
There is also a scheduled server maintenance that will take place as of 5 p.m. local time. All updates will be provided retroactively as soon as the site is available again.
