Ashling Limp-Shoves

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ming Ashling limped in from under the gun, and he got a call from a couple seats over before Tyler Williams went all-in for 24,900. Ashling quickly came over top with a larger shove, and after a bit of thought, the other player released his hand.

Ashling was playing kings, against the jacks of WIlliams. The board of {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} ran out clean for kings, and the player who folded told the table he mucked tens.

Ashling Still Stacking

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ming Ashling
Ming Ashling

Ming Ashling has been on a run of late, and not even a table change could break his run. Shortly after arriving at the new table, Ashling called behind after Shannon Brass raised from under the gun to 4,000.

Adrian Baran also called from late position to see {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{a-Diamonds} on the flop. Brass led out for 3,000 before Ashling made it 15,000 to go. Baran quickly mucked, but Brass called.

When the turn came {3-Spades} Ashling fired 25,000 after a check from Brass. Brass called, and they both checked the {k-Clubs} river. Brass paired the ace on the flop with {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, but Ashling had a better kicker that also paired with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

Back in Action

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

The final 54 players are now back at the felt for the final two levels of the night. Currently, play is in Level 15 with blinds at 1,200/2,400/2,400, and play for Day 1a will end after the end of Level 16.

Hopkins Flop Bet Takes It

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Josh Hopkins opened the betting from middle position with a raise to 5,100. He was called by Joseph Dumas in the cutoff, as well as the player in the big blind.

The big blind checked in the dark and the flop came {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Hopkins meticulously counted out a bet of 6,500 and tossed it in, forcing folds from the other two players.

Iron Hits and Holds

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

It was all in action between Francis Iron and Tony Kowalczyk pre-flop. The board of {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades} was already on the felt, and the dealer was counting up Iron's double, showing {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, as Kowalczyk's cards were already in the muck. Kowalczyk still sits on one of the top 5 stacks in the room, and Iron is growing as well.

Cary Shoves

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Brian Borsheim made it 7,200 to go from early position, and Bruce Cary shoved over top for 26,500 from his immediate left. It folded all the way back to Borsheim, and he hit the tank hard.

After thinking for more than a minute, and watching the clock tick over into Level 16, he joked with the table. "I might just tank 29 more minutes."

It didn't that long however, as shortly after his joke he mucked the unsuited slick face up. Cary collected the pot without revealing his hand.
