While the sun continues to shine over Estoril, poker fans will likely prefer heading to the Casino Estoril rather than the beach for Day 1b of the €500 Estoril Poker Fest Main Event.

The second of four starting flights follows this Wednesday’s Day 1a, which attracted a total of 284 entries. From that field, only 46 players managed to bag chips and advance to Day 2. They are led by Benjamin Legrusley, who built a massive stack of 1,830,000 after winning two huge pots on the bubble.

He is followed by Moundir Zoughari, who also crossed the one-million-chip mark with 1,020,000, while Thomas De Leiris rounds out the top three with 723,000.

Among the notable players who advanced through the first flight are Julien Gadanho (675,000), Adrien Burgniard (598,000), streamers Robin Gerard (447,000) and Jean “Juaniitoooo” Salaun (361,000), Sylvain Berthelot (286,000), Edgaras Gendvilis (193,000), and Ferdinando D’Alessio, who squeaked through with just 12,000 chips.

All of them have already secured a spot in the money and qualified for Saturday’s Day 2. They will be joined by the players advancing from today’s Day 1b, which kicks off at noon local time.

This flight will follow the exact same structure as Day 1a, featuring a 50,000 starting stack and 30-minute levels. Late registration will remain open for 13 levels, and 16.6% of the field will advance to the next stage.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Beer Pong Open will get underway at 8 p.m. to crown yet another festival champion.
