Jack High No Good?

We pick up the action on the river in a hand between Gus Hansen and one other player at his table. The board reads {4-Hearts}

and there are more than 8,000 chips in the middle of the table. Action is on Gus, and he takes his time mulling over his options. As he likes to do, he bets the full rainbow -- one chip of each color, equaling 6,625. His opponent cuts out calling chips and puts them into the pot, drawing a big sigh from Gus.

"I think I have absolutely no chance of winning this pot," he said sheepishly. He turned over the {J-Hearts}

, saying, "I think I have a jack. If you can beat a jack, you win," He also showed the {10-Spades}

. His opponent flipped over {A-Clubs}

, and his two pair does indeed beat Hansen's jack high. He pulled in a nice little pot, dropping Hansen back down the totem pole a bit -- now sitting with 64,000.
