Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey has just taken his seat inside the tournament room and was greeted by a circus of poker paparazzi and spectators. Within five minutes, Ivey had a boom mic above his head and the table was completely surrounded with photographers and tournament staff. A senior member of the tournament staff eventually ruled that the commotion was too disruptive and he clapped his hands twice and shooed everyone out of the area.
Ivey missed the first three levels of play, though at last count we had his vacant chair at 18,500 in chips, so he currently has about 46 big blinds to work with -- plenty for the man who many consider to be the best in the world. We'll keep you posted on his progress.
