Charlie Godwin's Deep Run Comes to an End

Level 27 : 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
Charlie Godwin
Charlie Godwin

Charlie Godwin shipped all in for her last 11.3 million in middle position and was called by Graham Ivany in the cutoff. Godwin turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} but was dominated by Ivany's {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} and Gowin was unable to come from behind. She put up a strong fight and was the last lady standing, but her tournament life has come to an end in 19th place.

Billard Bombs The Turn

Level 27 : 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante

Francois Billard opened with a raise to 2,600,000 from under the gun, before Pavel Gonchakov put in a 3-bet to 8,100,000 from the small blind. After some consideration, Billard made the call and the two players took a {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop.

Both players checked, with Gonchakov also checking the {7-Spades} turn, prompting Billard to fire out 6,000,000. That was enough to see Gonchakov fold and earn Billard the pot.

Horak Rams The Turn

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

Felipe Ramos opened with a raise to 2,600,000 under the gun, with action folding round to Jiri Horak in the small blind, who put in the 3-bet to 8,600,000. Ramos made the call and the two players took a flop.

Horak continued for 6,000,000 on the {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop, with Ramos making the call. The dealer burned and turned the {10-Diamonds}, which Horak bombed for 25,500,000, asking Ramos for most of his stack to make the call. Ramos didn't look convinced, but folded nonetheless, with Horak dragging in another pot.

Roberto Vahlis Eliminated From Feature

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

Preben Stokkan raised it up to 2,600,000 under the gun, with action folding all the way around to Roberto Vahlis in the big blind. Vahlis 3-bet all in for his last 20,000,000, and was quickly called by Stokkan.

Vahlis was in trouble, as his {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} was dominated by Stokkan's {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. The {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} flop was no help to either player, although Vahlis picked up chop outs on the {3-Spades} Turn. The board paired on the {4-Hearts} river, which sent Vahlis to the payout desk to collect his 18th place money.

Felipe Felts Francois

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

Felipe Ramos and Francois Billard got all the money in pre-flop, for 29,000,000 each. It was a classic flip situation, with Billard looking to hold on with his {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} versus Ramos' {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

Ramos took the lead as the dealer spread a {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, and continued to improve on the {a-Clubs} turn. The {10-Hearts} hit the river, which was no good for Billard as he left the tournament area.

The First Pot at Showdown Goes to Koon

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante
Jason Koon
Jason Koon

There have been a lot of raise and takes at the outer table with no hand reaching showdown in the first 30-minutes of the level. Finally, there was a little taste of action when Ruben Perceval raised to 3.6 million from early position and was called by Andrey Shatilov in the cutoff and Jason Koon in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and the action was checked around to Shatilov who fired 5.2 million. Koon made the call and Perceval folded. The {10-Hearts} landed on the turn and both players checked to the {3-Spades} on the river. Koon checked again and Shatilov checked behind. Koon turned over {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and that was good enough to earn him the pot.

Shatilov Earns a Double Up

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

Jason Koon opened to 3.5 million from early position and Andrey Shatilov shipped all in for 31 million from the small blind. Koon asked for a count and then made the call.

Andrey Shatilov: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Jason Koon: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Shatilov had Koon dominated and held on to double up when the board fell {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

Dizenzo Check-Raised the River

Level 28 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

With around 19 million in the pot and the completed board reading {q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts}, Dan Dizenzo checked from the cutoff. Jason Koon fired out a bet of 16 million on the button and Dizenzo check-raised to 40 million.

Koon started talking to himself, playing out the hand and trying to come to a decision. "I have a really big hand. This is so sick how this played out. You can't be bluffing me here."

He finally came to the decision of folding and Dizenzo scooped the pot to take over the chip lead.
