Lechner Drags A Big One

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Martin Lechner drags in a big pot
Martin Lechner drags in a big pot

Rolando Lombardi opened to 1,250,000 from the cutoff, with action folding to Martin Lechner who defended his big blind.

Lechner checked the {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, prompting Lombardi to put out a 1,250,000 continuation bet, before coming over the top with check-raise to 3,500,000. Lombardi thought for a moment before making the call, with both players checking the {k-Hearts} turn.

The board paired on the {3-Diamonds} river, on which Lechner very deliberately cut out 5,000,000 in pink chips and slowly slid them over the line. Lombardi gave it 30 seconds or so, before sliding his chips over the line equally as slowly. Lechner tabled {q-Spades}{3-Spades} for trips, which seemed to both surprise and frustrate Lombardi, as he reluctantly passed his cards face down to the dealer, while Lechner dragged in a pot to take him into second place.

Oliver Brandner was all-in and Harald Heigl had called.

Harald Heigl: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Oliver Brandner: {K-}{J-}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} - even though Brandner hit a king on the flop, the ace on the river gave Heigl the win and Brandner is out.

Heigl Gets Hero Called

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Rolando Lombardi
Rolando Lombardi

We join the action in a hand between Rolando Lombardi and Harald Heigl, looking at a {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board, with a little under 8,000,000 in the middle.

Lombardi checked the action over to Heigl who, after studying for a moment, went for a bet of 3,300,000. After a minute or so, Lombardi slid the calling chips over the line, prompting Heigl to immediately table {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. It took the table a moment to realise this was a bluff, but Lombardi proudly tabled his {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} for ace high and scooped up the eight-figure pot.

Vladimir Burstein raised to 1,100,000 from the under-the-gun position. Christian Georgescu, in early position, E. A. on the button, Giorgi Tsintsadze and Ela Kubincova in the blinds, all called.

They all checked through the {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on the flop. The turn brought them the {Q-Clubs}, Tsintsadze, Kubincova and Burstein checked, Georgescu opened to 1,675,000. E. A. and Tsintadze folded and Kubincova shoved for about 5,800,000. Burstein folded and Georgescu thought for a while and then called.

Ela Kubincova: {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Christian Georgescu: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

Kubincova had turned two pair, queens and sevens. Georgescu needed the board to pair or a king to win this hand. The river completed the board with the {3-Diamonds} for Kubincova to take the pot and stack up.

Lechner Happy To Showdown

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Martin Lechner raised from the cutoff to 1,050,000, with Rolando Lombardi 3-betting to 2,250,000 from the small blind. After a short dwell, Lechner put in the call and the pair took a {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop heads up.

Lombardi continued on the flop for the same bet - 2,250,000 - with Lechner making the call, before both players checked down the {8-Clubs} turn and the {j-Spades} river.

Lechner went to table his hand, but was promptly shown Lombardi's {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. As the dealer pushed the pot Lombardi's way, Lechner flashed the {a-Clubs}, before the tournament director announced there would be a short break after this level.
