Istomin and Andreev Chop

Level 15 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Andrey Andreev limped in and Aleksei Istomin raised to 250,000, which Andreev called. The latter bet the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop and Istomin raised to 600,000 with Andreev calling. After the {7-Diamonds} turn, Andreev checked-called a bet of 1,100,000 and Andreev called before both checked the {8-Diamonds} river.

The straight on the board ended up as a split pot, as Andreev's {K-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a busted flush draw and Istomin's {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for a flopped straight were equally strong when all community cards were added up.

Chop Loses a Lot

Level 15 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Dmitry Chop raised from under the gun and Anatoliy Filonenko defended his big blind before the jack-high flop was checked through. That turned out to be very costly for Chop, as his trips nines with {A-Spades}{9-Spades} saw Filonenko get a cheap turn and river card with {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and backdoor a flush to boost his stack significantly.

As for Govert Metaal, the Dutchman left the tournament area with the words "I played seven hands and lost them all."

Level 15 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

It's been a good few hands for WSOP Main Event final tablist Jack Sinclair and we caught up with him and explained how he called in the big blind with {a-}{j-} after partypoker Sponsored Pro Richard Dubini opened from the button.

The flop came {6-}{7-}{8-} and both players checked. The turn was the {9-} and Sinclair bet out and Dubini called. The river was the {10-} and Sinclair checked to Dubini who jammed for around twice the size of the pot. Sinclair called. Dubini showed {a-}{10-} and Sinclair scooped a monster double up.

The next hand, he said, he flopped a set of jacks and got two streets of value.

With that, Sinclair moves up to over seven million in chips leaving Dubini with under a million.
