First Break of the Day

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

The remaining 54 players just went on their first 20-minute break of the day. While they are having a breath of fresh air, the casino staff will chip up the green chips worth a mere 25.

Joao Simao still seems to lead the crowd, although he has lost around 50,000 chips during the last level.

Jessica Pilkington Eliminated

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

Hand 1

In late position, Jessica Pilkington raised and then called the shove of short stack Lander Lijo Bereciartua out of the small blind for almost even chips at around 20 big blinds.

Lander Lijo Bereciartua: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Jessica Pilkington: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and the Spaniard doubled for 49,400, leaving Pilkington with less than two big blinds.

Hand 2

Three hands later, Pilkington was in the big blind with another 625 behind and Vojtech Ruzicka raised to 5,100. Ben Heath in the small blind three-bet to 21,200 and Pilkington called all in, before Ruzicka then shoved and was called by Heath to create a three-way showdown.

Jessica Pilkington: {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Ben Heath: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The board came {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Pilkington's miracle never happened, while Ruzicka doubled for 111,475 through Heath.

Koray Aldemir busted at almost the same time on a different table as well and joined the rail.

Three Down the Drain

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

Antti Halme was the last player to register thus far, and the Finn has ran out of chips soon after. He was joined on the rail by Vishal Maini and Andreas Olympios, and just over half of the field remains towards the end of level eight.

Filatov's Two Pair No Good

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

Anatoly Filatov moved all-in from under the gun with his shortstack of less than 20,000. Vojtech Ruzicka quickly scouted the stacks of his tablemates before announcing all-in himself, but nobody agreed to that kind of price, and the hands were revealed.

Anatoly Filatov: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop saw the Partypoker Pro take the lead, but with the {A-Diamonds} on the turn Ruzicka was still alive going into the river. The {9-Clubs} on the river made two better pair for the Czech, and Filatov was eliminated.

Last Level to Enter

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

Around half of level eight remains and that gives players just over 40 minutes including the next break in order to join the competition. Adrian Mateos took a re-entry and bought back in while Ivan Luca just showed up and took a seat for the first time. Jost Beifuhs was eliminated and that brings the field to 57 players remaining out of 105 entries in total.

Three-Way All In and No Seat Open

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

Anatoly Filatov open-shoved for his last 17,700 from under the gun and Jessica Pilkington shoved on the button for 43,600, which Roberto Romanello in the big blind with the biggest stack of the trio called to put two players at risk.

Anatoly Filatov: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Jessica Pilkington: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Roberto Romanello: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Romanello had the best of it, but only until the flop fell {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}. The {3-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Diamonds} river completed the board and Filatov as well as Pilkington chopped the main pot, while Pilkington took the side pot off Romanello.

Joao Simao Surges to the Top: Busts Bryan Van Rijsbergen

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

Barely had Bryan Van Rijsbergen gotten to his seat at table #27 before Joao Simao send him packing in a classic coin flip. The action was folded around to Rijsbergen in the small blind, and the Dutchman raised it up. Simao in the big blind made it 23,400 to go, and Rijsbergen quickly moved in. Just as quickly Rijsbergen threw in a single 25,000 chip to indicate a call, and the hands were on their backs.

Rijsbergen: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Simao: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} was safe for Rijsbergen, so was the {Q-Clubs} on the turn, but the {10-Spades} on the river completed a nut straight for the Brasilian Partypoker Pro, and Rijsbergen hit the rail, while Simao soared into the chiplead.

Salter Runs out of Chips

Level 8 : 1,200/2,400, 250 ante

Ben Heath raised to 4,500 at the end of the previous level and Jack Salter three-bet to 21,200 in the big blind, which Heath called. On a flop of {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, Salter continued for 13,500 and was called before the {9-Hearts} turn went check, check. On the {5-Diamonds} river, Salter bet 33,000 with 60,000 behind and Heath raised to 175,000.

After tanking more than five minutes into the new level, Salter called and then mucked his cards when Heath showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for trips tens. Salter will likely re-enter while Heath improved his stack to almost half a million in chips and one lucky pound next to it.
