A Whole Lot of Doubles

Level 47 : 500,000/1,000,000, 100,000 ante

David Peters open-shoved the small blind with the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Jake Cody called in the big blind with the {K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The board came {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Cody stayed in. Soon after, Xia Ke doubled through Moritz Dietrich and then Andreas Samuelsson scored the second double in quick succession.

First Samuelsson had {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and held against the {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} of the big blind, who got it in on a flop of {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Both the {3-Diamonds} turn and {K-Diamonds} river blanked.

And now, Samuelsson was all in and at risk with the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Igor Kurganov held {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. The board of {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{K-Spades} gave Samuelsson quads and he doubled for 15,660,000.

Last but not least, Stephen Chidwick raised from the button and Tom Hall three-bet to 16M, almost his entire stack, out of the big blind. Since there was a payjump, Hall waited for just a brief time and called it off while the chips were flying on the other tables.

Tom Hall: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Stephen Chidwick: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The insane rush of Chidwick was put on a temporary break, as the board of {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts} let Hall double for 17.505M.

With all that crazy action, it went amiss that Patrice Brandt had already been eliminated in 36th place.
