Kempe Falls Short of the Final Table

Level 37 : 1,500,000/3,000,000, 1,500,000 ante

Aymon Hata raised to 7 million on the button and Rainer Kempe announced a raise to 30 million in the small blind, leaving himself with only 6 million behind. Aleksei Istomin used up a time extension in the big blind before re-shoving all in for around 50 million. Hata folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

Kempe showed {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} but was in a world of trouble against the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} of Istomin. The flop of {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} gave Kempe a straight draw and some hope. However, the {6-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Hearts} on the river were no help and he was eliminated eighth place. The final seven players will now redraw for a seat at the unofficial final table.

Hata on Top of Counts (full)

Level 36 : 1,000,000/2,500,000, 1,000,000 ante

The action folded to Aymon Hata in the small blind who made it 7 million and Rainer Kempe called from the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Hata led out for 3.5 million. Kempe called and the {6-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Hata fired another 15 million this time and Kempe stuck around to see the {8-Clubs} on the river. Hata announced all in, putting Kempe to the test for his remaining 82 million chips. He burned through time extension after time extension, five of them in total. Eventually, Kempe slid his cards to the muck and Hata dragged in the pot.

The tournament is down to it's final eight players and with one more elimination, the unofficial final table will be set.
