Day 1 Started
The Triton Super High Roller series just finished a very successful festival at the Landing Casino in Jeju, South Korea, and as soon as the final interview was done, the live stream crew assembled the feature table setup and headed over to Sochi. In cooperation with the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Russia festival, Triton will host two exclusive High Roller events at the Casino Sochi and the first of them is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. local time.
The tournament comes with a buy-in of RUB3,000,000 (approximately $50,000) and Day 1 will feature up to eight levels of 45 minutes each with a live stream available as soon as the cards get in the air. All participants will receive 50,000 in chips and the registration for the two-day event remains open for another two hours on Day 2 the next day.
During the registration period, unlimited re-entries are allowed and the event is also played with a 30-second shot clock. All participants receive six time banks at the start, another three when the registration closes and additional three time banks will be awarded at the final table.
Among others, the Triton Poker founders Paul Phua and Richard Yong will be taking part and Phil Ivey is also expected to join the action. On top of that, you can look forward to High Roller regulars such as Mustapha Kanit, Niall Farrell, Manig Loeser, Dietrich Fast, Patrik Antonius, and Johannes Becker.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to provide all the high stakes action in the next few days, so make sure to tune back in regularly to find out who has made the trip to beautiful Sochi.
Dietrich Fast was the first player to show up in the tournament area and register for the event, quickly followed by Timothy Adams, Koray Aldemir, and Aymon Hata. Niall Farrell were also spotted near the Triton Poker room and the cards are expected to get in the air soon.
The partypoker ambassador Ludovic Geilich will take on commentator duties along with James Dempsey and the live stream will run on a delay of 30 minutes.
So far there has been no update as to when the tournament will start and the three players at the buffet are currently discussing things with the staff at Casino Sochi. Further information will be released when there is news to share.
The manual seating started over on the secondary feature table once the first eight players showed up and that number has since grown to ten, as a result another redraw will take place to set up
