Loeser Leads Triton Super High Roller into Day 2

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Manig Loeser

The Triton Super High Roller has ended with nine players remaining after 14 entrants took part after a delayed start.

The event was due to begin at 5 p.m. local time, but when the clocks started, there were no players registered. Germany players Dietrich Fast and Koray Aldemir were the first two players to register at around 7 p.m. local time, but it was until 9:30 p.m. that the first five players got the play underway after Johannes Becker, Chin Wei Lim, and Wai Kin Yong all registered.

Once the news got out that the event had started more players joined with the likes of Niall Farrell, Leong Chan Wai, Abraham Passat and Timothy Adams, who jumped straight from the High Roller to the Super, buying in.

Dietrich Fast and Adams were the only two players to reenter after busting and had a contrasting end of the day. Adams was able to build on his second bullet and bagged 558,000, whereas Fast exited once more in the final hand of the day against Manig Loeser when his ace-king lost to pocket sevens.

Loeser (782,000) will take the chip lead into the final day with Adams and Phil Ivey (517,500) completing the top-three chip counts.

Play will get underway at 1 p.m. local time, with late registration open until the end of the first break, at approximately 3:30 p.m. as they battle for a share of the RUB120,000,000 (approximately $2,000,000) guarantee.

PokerNews will be back with all the Day 2 coverage as the Triton Super High Roller champion is crowned.

In the final hand of the day, Dietrich Fast raised from the button and saw Manig Loeser three-bet. Fast who had around 100,000 moved all in, and Loeser called.

Manig Loeser: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Dietrich Fast: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Loeser hit a set of the flop and improved to a full house on the turn to leave Fast, who was on his second bullet, drawing dead as Loeser took the overall chip lead.

Fast will have the option to buy-in for his third bullet during the first three levels of play tomorrow if he so wishes.

Wai Kin Yong
Wai Kin Yong

Manig Loeser joined the action after the first break and has immediately eliminated Wai Kin Yong. Koray Aldemir opened the action with a raise and Yoon flatted on the button. Loeser was in the small blind and three-bet to 40,000. Aldemir decided to fold which gave Yong the opportunity to move all in. Loeser made the call and the cards were turned on their backs.

Manig Loeser: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Wai Kin Yong: {a-}{q-}

Board: {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{X-}

Yong was unable to hit on the board, and after earlier seeing his ace-king lose to pocket aces, he becomes the first player to exit the Triton Super High Roller, as recent entrant Loeser moved up to 370,000.
