Hewitt Shows Trips

Level 7 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

The board was down {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades}, and Andy Hills had bet 375,000 from the big blind. Sylvia Hewitt was on the button and opted to raise to 850,000. Hills needed a minute to think before he decided to fold. Hewitt then tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for trips before she swooped in the pot and moved up to a sizeable 3.9m.

Willis Scores Double Knockout

Level 8 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jonty Willis has just eliminated two players from his table, with one of them being Jack Sinclair.

In the previous hand, Wills was in a heads-up battle with Sinclair with the flop down {4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Sinclair bet 85,000 from the big blind, and Willis called from the cutoff. The turn card was the {2-Spades}, and Willis called a 200,000 bet from Sinclair and saw a {j-Clubs} river.

Sinclair opted to check, and Willis bet 365,000. Sinclair gave himself a minute to think before he decided to call. Willis tabled {j-Clubs}{7-Spades} for top pair, and Sinclair smiled as he mucked.

This left Sinclair with just 400,000, and he got it all in the very next hand. Willis raised from middle position, and Sinclair moved all in from the small blind. The player in the big blind also moved all in, and Wills called.

Jack Sinclair: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Opponent 1: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Jonty Willis: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

The board came down {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and Willis held to eliminate both his opponents and moved up to 3.5m.
