The tournament organization has just announced the changes to the structure today:

All players in Day 2 have the opportunity to buy in twice today.

Everyone will play the first two 60-minute levels and then have a 15-minute break. The players in the poker room will play one level before being sent on a 60-minute dinner break. When they return, the players in the marquee will be sent for their 60-minute dinner break.

After that dinner break, the late registration and reentry period is supposed to be closed.

The players will all be playing one level and then have a 15-minute break. Then the usual two levels of 60 minutes will be played before they will all be taking their last 15-minute break of the day.

One more level will be played after the break before they can bag and tag their chips for Day 3.

Kett Doubles Through Sklenicka

Level 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Michael Sklenicka
Michael Sklenicka

The board read {4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} with a pot of just a bit over 600,000 in the middle already.

Ben Kett had bet 200,000 in the big blind and Michael Sklenicka was trying to figure out what to do from mid-position. After a minute or so, Sklenicka raised to 700,000. Kett contemplated for a while and then decided to shove. Sklenicka did not seem happy at all. He sat up straight and asked the dealer for a count. The dealer obliged and confirmed Kett had 2,030,000 behind.

"I have a big hand," Sklenicka said while going through all his options. After a while, Sklenicka reluctantly called.

Kett tabled {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for the turned full house and Sklenicka flicked open {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} to show what he had as per the rules of an all-in situation.

James Mitchell
James Mitchell

The board was down {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and Vojtech Ruzicka checked from the small blind. There was around 950,000 in the pot, and James Mitchell moved all in for 935,000.

Ruzicka went into the tank, and after close to two minutes of thought, Mitchell called the clock. But before the tournament director event had a chance to reach the table, Ruzicka quickly folded and surrendered the pot.

Zhang Forced to Fold on the River

Level 13 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Michael Zhang
Michael Zhang

Michael Chi Zhang raised to 50,000 and saw three players call. The flop came down {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, and Zhang continued for 50,000 which got a call from Richard Hare on the button and the player in the small blind. All three players checked on the {k-Spades} turn and {7-Diamonds} hit the river. The small blind player checked, Zhang bet 200,000 and Hare raised to 600,000, precisely enough to put Zhang all-in. The player in the small blind folded and Zhang went into the tank.

Nearly three minutes passed for Zhang made his decision to fold, and we were left with a stack worth 400,000.

White Chipping Up Against Gomes

Level 14 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Tom White
Tom White

Tom White was sitting on a stack of almost 5 million and said he won a lot against Alexandre Gomes who started the day as the chip leader but has now already been eliminated.

Gomes had opened from the cutoff and White three-bet in the small blind with pocket kings. Gomes called.

The flop came king-high and Gomes called White's continuation-bet of 300,000.

White bet again for 500,000 on the turn and Gomes called that one too.

On the river, White barreled another 900,000 over the line and Gomes still didn't believe him and called. White tabled the set and Gomes mucked.
