£5,300 Super High Roller
Day 2 Started
Welcome to Day 2 of the partypoker LIVE UK Poker Championships held at Dusk Till Dawn casino in Nottingham. Today the £5,300 Super High Roller plays down to a winner after yesterday's first 12 levels.
Fourteen players will return to take their seats with WSOP bracelet winner Chris Brammer, Germany's Manig Loeser and partypoker ambassador Marcel Luske all still in the mix.
The UK's Steven Morris is the man they will be chasing when the play resumes at noon local time as he tops the chip counts with an impressive 562,000. Luke Marsh (446,000) and Chris Sly (389,000) complete the top three. Blinds will begin at 3500/7000 in level 13, with the button paying the 7000 table ante.
Also amongst the current chip leaders is British pro James Mitchell (359,000). It was a turbulent day for Mitchell who was on the receiving end of both good and bad luck. In the first instance, he achieved a straight against his opponent Andreas Olympios, who held a set of tens, but it was to be Mitchell who later on lost a large pot after he flopped a jack-high flush only to see Nicholas Todd turn over the nut flush after calling his all-in.
The UKPC Super High Roller needed to attract 40 entries to match its £200,000 guarantee, and that's exactly the number it achieved.
Several players took advantage of the late registration period and made their way from the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Germany in Rozvadov, including Vishal Maini, MILLIONS Germany €10k High Roller winner Dominik Nitsche, and MILLIONS Germany €50,000 Super High Roller champion Michael Chi Zhang.
Today, there will be a live stream of the Super High Roller starting at approx. 1 pm local time, on a 50-minute delay. PokerNews will be bringing you all the action in real time until the final table is set. We will then follow the play alongside the delayed live stream in the interest of the players.
PokerNews will also be bringing you live coverage of not just the partypoker LIVE UK Championships Super High Roller, but the Main Event as well which gets underway tomorrow for Day 1a at Noon and Day 1b at 5 p.m. local time.
There is still time for you to grab your seat in the Main Event, with two £100+10 Mega Satellites, both guaranteeing 50 Main Event seats, scheduled for tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. local time.
