Fitzgerald Tries Again

In the very last level of yesterday evening's Day 1b, Ludovic Geilich was able to catapult this chip count up to over a million thanks to a call against Thomas Fitzgerald.

Ireland's Fitzgerald, who has two partypoker LIVE Grand Prix final tables to his name, tried to bluff all-in but Geilich caught him out. Just 24 hours later, Fitzgerald is back in Main Event action and has taken his seat in the marquee for Day 1d.

Vinson Folds on the River to Shannon

Level 4 : 700/1,400, 1,400 ante
Ben Vinson
Ben Vinson

With three players in action on the {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop, Ben Shannon threw in one purple 5k chip and Ben Vinson was the only caller. A fourth club hit the turn in the form of the {3-Clubs} and both players checked.

When the {9-Hearts} hit the river Shannon decided to move all in for around 25,000. Vinson, who has $1,348,351 in recorded live tournament cashes, didn't immediately fold his hand and instead seemed to have a tough decision. After weighing up his options for nearly two minutes he slowed moved his hand over the pass line and Shannon swooped in the pot.

With 40,000 already in the pot and the flop laid out {7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, Will Kassouf faced a bet of 20,000 from his opponent in the small blind. Kassouf, who was in middle-position, had a stack of around 75,000 behind him and took his time to think.

"You must have ace-high?" he asked, but got no response.

He then announced all-in and was quickly called.

Will Kassouf: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Kassouf was behind and needed to catch up by the river. He called for one of his outs to hit but when the {a-Hearts} and {6-Hearts} were revealed he was left to ponder reentry.
