Phil Ivey

The first day of the Triton 100K Super High Roller, part of the 2019 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Europe festival, will kick off at 1 p.m. local time at the King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. Igor Kurganov is in the lead with 743,000 from the 200,000 starting stack but he is followed by Michael Addamo with 552,000 in chips. Addamo already found success in Rozvadov when he won a bracelet at the WSOPE in 2018 to win a bracelet and €848,702.

No other than Phil Ivey is also still in the field. Ivey managed to bag 341,000 which is above average. He sits in seventh on the leaderboard at the moment and will start Day 2 with a little over forty big blinds. The average stack is at the moment 311,111 but that number will drop when new players register.

The tournament attracted 21 unique entries on the first day which were good for 28 total entries. Orpen Kisacikoglu had to reenter twice in the tournament and he ended the day with 300,000. Others that had to reenter the tournament include Kurganov, Charlie Carrel (440,000), Paul Phua (418,000), Cary Katz (170,000), and Kahle Burns (146,000). Teun Mulder, Ole Schemion, and Richard Yong all busted on Day 1 without reentering.

Other notables that made it through to Day 2 include partypoker team pros Sam Trickett (350,000) and Kristen Bicknell (218,000), Triton London crusher Wai Kin Yong (432,000), Triton co-founder Paul Phua (418,000), Phil Ivey (341,000), and Tony G (321,000).

Registration is still open for the first level of Day 2. Players can enter with a fresh 200,000 starting stack in the first level with blinds at 4,000/8,000 and a big blind ante of 8,000 and the second level of the day will be 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 big blind ante. A few more entries are expected with late registration still open.

There will be a €25,000 Short Deck tournament kicking off at 9 p.m. local time later in the day. PokerNews will be providing coverage of both events and PokerGO will provide a stream for the second and final day of the €100,000 Triton Super High Roller. The blog will be on a thirty-minute delay.

Carrel Goes Down in Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Charlie Carrel
Charlie Carrel

It is unsure how the action went but Charlie Carrel got his big stack of over 400,000 in the middle with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} from the under-the-gun position against the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} of Michael Addamo who was sitting in the hijack. Both of these players started with a big stack but it was Carrel who was at risk of elimination.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Carrel was eliminated from the tournament.

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Cary Katz sat in the big blind with {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Phil Ivey on the button with {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop was already on the board and Katz check-called a bet of 20,000 from Ivey.

Katz check-raised all in for effectively 124,000 after Ivey bet 50,000 on the {q-Clubs} turn and Ivey quickly called.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and Ivey busted his second bullet with late registration closed.

Kurganov Busts Trickett, Siow

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

Sam Trickett opened to 35,000 under the gun, and Igor Kurganov raised to 105,000 from the hijack.

Choon Tong Siow went all in for 114,000 total from the big blind, Trickett rerasied all in to 510,000, and Kurganov called.

Choon Tong Siow: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Sam Trickett: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Igor Kurganov: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

It was as good of a situation as possible for Kurganov, who stood to score a double elimination and take the chip lead. Kurganov's pocket kings held up through the {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} runout, trimming the field to 10 players.

Bicknell Doubles Through Heath

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

Kristen Bicknell raised to 50,000 from middle position with {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and it folded to Ben Heath in the small blind. He just called with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and big blind Vladimir Troyanovskiy got out of the way.

The flop fell {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Heath check-called a 30,000 continuation bet from Bicknell. The {j-Hearts} gave Heath the straight, but Bicknell filled up to a full house.

Both players checked this time to see the {3-Diamonds} on the river and Heath checked again. Bicknell bet 65,000 and Heath shoved all in for effectively 217,000 more. Bicknell snap-called and Heath saw the bad news.

Paul Phua Eliminated in 9th Place

Level 15 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Paul Phua
Paul Phua

It folded to Cary Katz on the button and he raised all in for 315,000 with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. He got a shove through from the cutoff in the previous hand but it wasn't as easy this time around. Paul Phua called from the small blind for his tournament life and Kristen Bicknell got out of the way in the big blind.

Katz was delighted to see Phua open up {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. The board ran out {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Katz won the pot, eliminating Phua in the process.

The Triton co-founder misses out on his 17th Triton cash but he can still jump in the €25,000 Triton Short Deck event that is about to start here in King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

Michael Addamo Eliminated in 8th Place

Level 15 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Michael Addamo
Michael Addamo

Michael Addamo moved all in for 485,000 from the cutoff when it folded to him. He held {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and it folded to big blind Ben Heath who had to use a time bank chip to make a decision with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. He ended up calling and they opened up to see they were flipping.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and none of those cards helped Addamo as he was eliminated from the tournament.

They are left with seven players and they are on the exact bubble of the tournament. The next player eliminated will take home €0 while the others will be guaranteed to make at least €213,000.

Igor Kurganov Bubbles the Triton 100K Super High Roller

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

Igor Kurganov sat in the small blind with {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} when it folded to him and he put all of his chips in the middle. He had 345,000 in total and Cary Katz sat in the big blind with only 90,000 more when he saw {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Katz called to put Kurganov at risk.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Kurganov missed a ton of outs on the river to be eliminated on yet another bubble. Kurganov bubble the £1,000,000 buy-in event about a week ago and misses out on yet another cash in a Triton event.

The other players are all guaranteed to make at least €213,000.

Ben Heath
Ben Heath

Wai Kin Yong raised to 60,000 from the button with {q-Spades}{5-Spades} and Ben Heath defended in the big blind with {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} gave both players top pair.

Heath checked to Yong who bet 90,000 but then raised to 230,000. Yong called to see the {2-Spades} turn and Heath jammed his last 580,000 in the middle. Yong called and they opened up.

The river was the {k-Clubs} and Yong didn't improve as Heath scored a double up.
