Mizzi Eliminated by Kollmann

Level 1 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi

Carlos Chadha raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Erich Kollmann called in middle position. Sorel Mizzi called from the small blind, and the big blind came along also.

The flop landed {2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and action checked round to Kollmann who bet out 15,000 and was called by all three of his opponents as the turn fell the {q-Spades}.

Action again checked through to Kollmann who bet 80,000. Mizzi thought for a little, and then check-raised to 340,000. The big blind and Chadha folded, and Kollman shoved all in for 982,000. Mizzi called all in for roughly 860,000, and the cards are tabled.

Mizzi: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Kollmann: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Mizzi was at-risk with his flopped set, and when the river landed the {k-Spades} and the stacks were counted, Mizzi headed to the rail as Kollmann climbed to a little under 2 million in chips.

Darren Elias
Darren Elias

Marc MacDonnell opened to 12,000 in the hijack and Darren Elias was the only caller from the big blind. The flop fell {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Elias checked to MacDonnell who continued for 12,000. Elias called and the {10-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Elias checked again and MacDonnell dropped in another bet of 35,000. Elias still called and the {5-Spades} paired the board on the river. Elias checked for the third time and MacDonnell pushed in a bet of 70,000. Elias quickly called and MacDonnell showed {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Elias claimed the pot with {q-Spades}{9-Hearts} for top pair.

In the next hand, MacDonnell raised it to 12,000 again and Elias dropped in a three-bet to 50,000 from the small blind. MacDonnell quickly folded and Elias picked up some more chips.

Welcome to Day 1A of the 2019 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Main Event

Welcome back to the 2019 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS North America, and the Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, Quebec, Canada, for Day 1A of the CA$10,300 Main Event that features a CA$5,000,000 guarantee.

In 2018, this event featured a CA$5,300 buy-in and a CA$10,000,000 guarantee that attracted a total of 1,954-entrants that saw 251-players finish-in-the money. As the final table of eight approached, the likes of Marc-Andre Ladouceur (20th), Will Failla (17th), James Gilbert (16th), Joe Cheong (11th), and Daniel Strelitz (10th) all fell short of the final table.

With a talented final eight in play, seven of those players would all collect the biggest payout of their career, and once multiple WPT Champions Club member Tony Ruberto was eliminated in third-place, heads-up play would be down to Taylor Black and Darryll Fish. The two would battle back for several hours before Fish committed on the flop holding {q-Spades}{9-Spades} against Black's {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for an overpair as the final board ran out {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Black was crowned the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Main Event Champion and recipient of the CA$1,400,000 first-place prize.
