Saakian Busts to Khadra Under Exceptional Circumstances

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Arutiun Saakian was all but all-in preflop for 555,000 as he had kept another 20,000 behind. Hadi Khadra called in the small blind and was then asked about his cards by the opponent from Russia. "Yes, I have aces," Khadra replied. Much to his disbelief, the dealer then mucked his cards and the table broke out in confusion.

The floor was called and the story was explained, as Saakian also needed an explanation in Russian as well. After checking the last three cards in the muck, the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} were then revealed and the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop was dealt. Khadra bet and Saakian sigh-called it off not far away from a pay jump.

Saakian flipped over the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and found some hope with the {j-Spades} turn but failed to complete his miracle on the {3-Spades} river to depart in 66th place.

Yiannis Liperis: {q-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Spades} runout kept Semionov in contention for now.
