Billard Takes Chip Lead into the Final Day; Machon and Moorman Also Through

Level 27 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Francois Billard
Francois Billard

After 15 levels of 40-minutes each, Day 2 of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona Warm Up is a wrap. From the 242 players that started today, 20 of them are through to the final day. At the top of the chip counts is Francois Billard with 80,800,000 in chips who will be setting his sights on the first place prize of €385,000 and the partypoker trophy!

The Canadian earned most of those chips when he doubled up with seven-eight against the aces of Jost Beifuhs. Billard hit his straight draw on the river and left his opponent behind with only a few big blinds. Second in the counts is Evangelos Beichrakis with 74,700,000. Closing out the podium is another Canadian, Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault with 69,500,000. He eliminated Vojtech Ruzicka in one of the last levels of the day by hitting quads.

Two other players who are playing with a stack which is way above average are Bartlomiej Machon (68,900,000) and Christopher Andler (61,400,000). Frederic Delval, Martin Weiemann, Chris Moorman, Aleksandr Orlov, and Pavel Plesuv all have stacks which are hovering around average. Other players who will need to find some luck tomorrow include Richard Dromzee, Anders Bisgaard, Aylar Lie, and Morten Christensen.

Not everyone was fortunate enough to make it to the final day. After Kristen Bicknell finishes the day as the stone-cold bubble, the only partypoker representatives to finish in the money were Joni Jouhkimainen, Marcel Luske, and Padraig Parkinson. Other notable players that were allowed to pay the payout desk a visit include Ryan Riess, Leo Margets, Milad Oghabian, Gaelle Baumann, Aliaksei Boika, Anton Wigg, Michael Watson, Paul Berende, Jack Sinclair, Damian Salas, Yiannis Liperis, Vojtech Ruzicka, and Dominik Panka.

The 20 remaining players will return at noon local time and continue on Level 28 with a small blind of 500,000, big blind of 1,000,000 and a button ante of 1,000,000. Once there are 16 players left, a redraw for the final two tables will take place. When there are nine players left, the unofficial final table will have been reached. The levels will continue to last for 40 minutes until heads-up play has been reached, the level duration will then be reduced to 20 minutes.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be there from the start until the winner has been crowned so stick around!

Bicknell Bubbles the Warm Up

Level 21 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Bubble, Kristen Bicknell
Bubble, Kristen Bicknell

partypoker Sponsored pro, Kristen Bicknell shoved all in for about 2,700,000 from the cutoff and was called by Morten Christensen in the big blind.

All action needed to finish on the other tables before Bicknell and Christensen could see what the other person had. Once the other tables finished playing, the floor came over so the hand could be played.

Kristen Bicknell: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}
Morten Christensen: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} giving Bicknell a pair of fours but Christensen still had an overpair and picked up a flush draw too.

The turn brought them the {A-Hearts} to give Bicknell two pair now and gasps could be heard all over the room.

The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds} to complete the flush draw for Christensen and the bubble to burst. Everyone applauded while Bicknell was sent to the rail as the bubble.

Zoufri Wins Just Before the Bubble

Level 21 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Jack Sinclair, Abdelhakim Zoufri, [Removed:226]

[Removed:226] shoved all in for about 1,700,000 from mid-position. Abdelhakim Zoufri did the same but then from the cutoff for about 5,500,000. Action folded to Jack Sinclair in the big blind who called.

[Removed:226]: {A-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Abdelhakim Zoufri: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Jack Sinclair: {A-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The players from the other tables all flocked to this table as the field only needed to lose two more players to be in the money. The floor announced the hole cards via the microphone for the people that couldn't see what was happening on the table. He then instructed the dealer to deal the flop:

{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} - Zoufri hit a set of eights but Sinclair picked up a flush draw, Luksenberg needed a lot of help.

The rest of the board was completed with the {3-Spades} on the turn and the {j-Clubs} on the river. Luksenberg was eliminated in 89th place while Zoufri was paid a double-up by Sinclair for the 5,450,000 he had in front of him.
