Anatoly Filatov Leads Final Six Into Extra Day in the €2,200 High Roller

The 2017 partypoker LIVE Million Germany €2,200 High Roller at King's Casino Rozvadov saw 48 players return to the tables out of a 65-player field to start Day 2. Registration remained open for another three levels of play, and during that period an additional 35 entrants and re-entries boosted the total attendance to 100 entries in total exactly meeting the guarantee.

The prize pool was to be shared among the top 10 spots and at 1"15 a.m. local time the remaining six hopefuls called it quits to bag up for the night and add an extra day to the schedule in order to determine the champion. Partypoker Ambassador Anatoly Filatov will be the man to beat when play resumes tomorrow, as the Russian had 2.6 million chips in front of him when the dust settled on Day 2. Right behind him is Serbia's Aleksandar Tomovic who bagged and tagged 2,475,000 while Boris Kotleba from Slovakia rounds out the top-3 with 2,060,000.

The remaining players still in contention for the title and the €60,000 first prize are Kacper Pyzara (1,360,000), Andre Haneberg (1,000,000) and Hoa Bui Chi (550,000).

Among the early casualties after the re-entry period closed with the conclusion of level 10 was partypoker Ambassador Jan-Peter Jachtmann, who ran pocket queens into the aces of Jurgen Kracht. Not long after the former EPT Grand Final champion, Jan Bendik, was eliminated in the hands of Slovakian countryman Boris Kotleba when his pocket pair of treys did not improve against Kotleba's queens.

When the remaining 16 players were redrawn for the final two tables, the pace of play slowed down considerably, Former chip leader Norbert Berent had seen his stack slowly dwindling away, and he exited in 15h place after putting his short stack at risk with seven-eight against the king-queen of Andre Haneberg. A few minutes later Ognjen Sekularac hit the rail when he ran tens into aces before the eliminations abruptly came to an end for more than an hour of play.

When it finally picked up again, Czech Flowermann3 was sent packing in 13th, as was Jurgen Kracht in 12th. Despite an average stack of a mere 22 big blinds, the bubble play dragged on for more than an hour with multiple short stacks finding crucial doubles. In the end, it was Lukas Soucek to get the painful privilege of becoming bubble boy. Soucek got his last two big blinds and change in with ace-trey suited but didn't get there against the sevens of Filatov.

With the elimination of Germany's Advokat in 10th place, the remaining players were redrawn onto the unofficial final table of nine, and that got things rolling. Within 30 minutes Florian Bach had exited in ninth when his ace-queen couldn't connect against the queens of Tomovic, Polish player Prezes was sent packing when Tomovic shortly after rivered a straight and ultimately Josef Gulas was eliminated when Filatov's sixes held up all-in preflop against the queen-deuce of his opponent.

Josef Gulas Eliminated in Seventh Place (€9,000)

Level 21 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Josef Guláš
Josef Guláš

Josef Gulas came in for a raise to 125,000, and only Kasper Pyzara made the call leaving around half a million chips behind. The flop came down {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and Pyzara checked his option, Gulas continued for 100,000 and Pyzara moved all-in. Gulas made the call with {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and needed to improve to beat the {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs} of Pyzara.

The {J-Spades} gave Gulas additional outs, but the {7-Hearts} was a blank and Pyzara scored the double while Gulas was left with a mere 150,000.

They were at risk the very next hand. 50,000 were already forced in the middle thanks to Gulas being the big blind, and the rest went in after Filatov opened the action with a raise to 100,000. Filatov called and turned over {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, and Gulas' {Q-Spades}{2-Hearts} did not get there when the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

That concludes the play for today. Chip counts and an end-of-day recap will follow shortly.

Prezes Eliminated in Eighth Place (€7,000)

Polish player Prezes was down to the very last fumes of his stack and got remaining two big blinds in holding {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} against the {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} of Aleksandar Tomovic in the big blind.

The {6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} was safe for Prezes, so was the {7-Diamonds} turn, but the {5-Clubs} river completed the straight for Tomovic, and the Serbian scored the knock-out.

One more elimination is due before play will conclude on the night. The remaining seven players are all guaranteed a payday of at least €9,000.

Florian Bach was the first player eliminated at the nine-max final table.

Aleksandar Tomovic opened for 140,000 before Bach three-bet his remaining stack of 450,000. Tomovic quickly called with {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and was well ahead of Bach who held {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}.

Tomovic remained ahead throughout the hand as the board ran out {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, while Bach hit the rails and collected the ninth place prize of €5,000.

The remaining eight players are guaranteed a payout of at least €7,000.

Lukas Soucek Bubbles the €2,200 High Roller

partypoker LIVE Million Germany High Roller Bubble

Anatoly Filatov raised to 125,000, and Aleksandar Tomovic made the call. Lukas Soucek in the big blind committed his entire stack of 119,000 and it was threeway to the flop.

The flop came down {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Filatov continued for 100,000. Tomovic thought contemplated for a while before folding, and Soucek and Filatov revealed their hands.

Filatov: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Soucek: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Soucek needed help to dodge the dreaded title as bubble boy, but the {6-Diamonds} was not it. Every remaining player in the tournament held their breath as the dealer burned and turned the {9-Hearts} on the river, and while Soucek was eliminated in 11th place the remaining 10 players in an instant became at least €4,000 richer.

Filatov Wins the Race to the Million

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jurgen Kracht and Anatoly Filatov
Jurgen Kracht and Anatoly Filatov

Immediately after the bust-out of Jan-Peter Jachtmann Anatoly Filatov took the seat on the very right of Jurgen Kracht. Filatov had brought 935,000 chips to the table, and with Kracht at 950,000, it looked to be quite the race for the one million mark.

Filatov ended up winning that race quite handily, as he just raked in a massive pot against Kracht in a blind-versus-button showdown. The action was folded around to Kracht on the button and he min-raised to 20,000. Filatov cut out a raise to 65,000 and put it over the line, and Kracht made the call.

The {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop was checked through before Filatov bet another 65,000 on the {2-Clubs} turn. Kracht called. The {K-Clubs} river saw Filatov fire 110,000 and Kracht instantly made the call, but his hand quickly hit the muck when Filatov showed down {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

"Well, that's one way to get to a million chips. Aces," Kracht said and shot his tablemate an envious look while Filatov added another tower to his already booming castle of chips.

Jachtmann Falls to Aces

Jan-Peter Jachtmann made it 25,000 to go before Jurgen Kracht came into the pot with a raise to 65,000. Back on Jachtmann, he moved all-in for around 300,000 and Kracht wasted no time committing the chips with {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}.

The partypoker Ambassador was in dire straits holding {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, and it was not to be for Jachtmann as the board ran out {J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The German WSOP bracelet holder hit the rail while countryman Kracht with that pot boosted his stack to almost a cool million chips.

Tatar's Chips Fried as Queens Cracked

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Marek Tatar
Marek Tatar

Marek Tatar made it 14,000 to go from first position, and both Jan-Peter Jachtmann on the button and "je" in the big blind made the call. The measly looking {2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop got the fireworks going as Tatar continued for 35,000, Jachtmann made the call and je moved all-in for 112,500 total. Tatar came back over the top for 260,000 total, and that was enough for the partypoker Ambassador to throw in the towel.

Tatar confidently revealed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} but they were trailing the {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} of je, and that didn't change as the dealer burned and turned the {5-Spades}. Jachtmann jumped out of his seat as he would have made a set on the turn had he called, and that would have been enough for the win as the river came {3-Hearts}.

As it was je instead raked in the massive pot, but both Tatar and Jachtmann are doing just fine as well.

7andar's Finds Aces Against Mach's Queens

Level 12 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Han Kuo Yong is among the latest casualties in the €2,200 High Roller
Han Kuo Yong is among the latest casualties in the €2,200 High Roller

Jan Mach made it 11,000 from early position, and "7andar" made it 27,500 to go from the cutoff. The button and blinds got out of the way before Mach came back over the top to 70,500, and "7andar" responded with yet another raise to 127,500 total. Mach six-bet it all in for a tad more than 300,000 and 7andrar, quickly committed his entire stack of 283,000 total.

Jan Mach: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
7andar: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The {8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{J-Spades} was no help to Mach, and when the {A-Diamonds} fell on the turn, the Czech was drawing dead. The river was a meaningless {3-Diamonds} and 7andar scooped the massive pot.

In the very next hand, Mach got his few remaining big blinds in holding {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. They would not best the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} of Flowermann3, who even scored a double knock-out when Han Kuo Yong couldn't get there with {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} as the board ran out {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

Filatov Eliminates 7andar

Level 8 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Anatoly Filatov
Anatoly Filatov

Partypoker Ambassador Anatoly Filatov started yesterday on fire and it was no different for him on Day 2.

The action folded around Germany's Hoa Bui Chi in late position who opened with a bet of 4,000. Slovakia's 7ander called from the button and Filatov called from the big blind to make it three-handed to the flop.

Filatov and Chi both checked on the {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades} flop before 7andar bet 10,000. Filatov called and Chi folded.

Both players checked when the {3-Clubs} appeared on the turn before the {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Filatov led out for 175,000 and 7andar went into the tank. He was mentioning combinations of cards that Filatov might have while his opponent stared straight out into space.

He eventually called his remaining stack of fewer than 50,000 chips and mucked his hand after Filatov turned over {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for two-pair.

After the hand, 7andar stayed at the table for a moment asking about the structure for the remaining of the day. After getting up from the table, he mentioned he would re-enter before late registration closed in about two hours.
