"It's a Turbo and I Need a Stack," says Udeanu

Level 4 : 400/800, 100 ante

With blinds still at 300/600 and an ante of 75, Hoa Bui Chi opened from the button and called a three-bet of 5,200 made by Romania's Dragos Udeanu.

Udeanu then fired out a big bet of 17,500 on the {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop. A player not involved in the hand looked at the dealer and asked if it was a re-entry. The dealer shared that players could re-enter one time and the player nodded.

Chi then folded and the player not involved in the hand asked Udeanu, "Why such a big bet?"

"It's a turbo and I need a stack" Udeanu responded.

"If I Can See the Cards, I might win the Main Event"

On a board of {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Spades} Philipp Gruissem was first to act in a heads up pot, but though Gruissem had yet to act, his opponent had already shown down his {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, as he thought the German high-roller had checked his option.

A floor manager was quickly called, and after conferring with both the players and the dealer, Gruissem was allowed to check or bet as he preferred. Gruissem quickly cut out slightly more than a full pot bet - 11,500, and the frustrated opponent quickly made the call.

Gruissem showed {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs} for the top pair, and that won him the pot.

"I might even win the Main Event, if I can actually see my opponents hole cards," Gruissem joked while stacking the pot.

On an adjacent table, Ludovic Geilich at one point pushed the 200k mark but is now back down to 165,000.

Kassam Passively Wins Blind vs. Blind

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Rehman Kassam

A good strategy sometimes in poker is to play in the opposite manner than your opponents. Many players are playing aggressively in hopes of building a big stack, however, some are playing a more passive game.

In a recent hand with blinds at 500/1,000 and an ante of 100, the action folded to Rehman Kassam in the small blind who limped to 1,000. His opponent in the big blind raised to 3,500 and Kassam called.

Kassam checked on a {7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop before calling a bet of 2,000 from his opponent. He then check-called a bet of 7,000 after the {q-Spades} appeared on the turn.

As was the pattern in the hand, Kassam checked on last time when the {8-Clubs} on the river. However, this time his opponent laid off the gas and checked behind.

Kassam quietly began to pile up his chips after he turned over {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for top pair and his opponent tossing his hand into the muck. Kassam, who was below a starting stack to start the hand, now is a little bit over with 110,000 in chips.

On the same table, partypoker Ambassador Natalia Breviglieri has a stack of around 120,000.

Willis Has to Call

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With around 6,000 already in the pot, Jonty Willis bet 3,800 on a board of {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Norbert Berent made the call. On the {5-Diamonds} river Willis bet once more, but only 2,500 this time. Berent swiftly made it 10,000 and total, and though Willis didn't look elated to commit the additional chips, he ultimately did.

Berent turned over {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} for two pair, and Willis just shook his head and flashed the {9-Diamonds} before he released his hand into the muck.

"I have to call there, right?" he asked Berent, leading the two of them to get caught up in a chat about turbo poker.
