The Talk Thinks "One Step More"

Level 7 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
The Talk
The Talk

The Talk was on a new table with Hoa Bui Chi. Whether he was one of the dozen players to be eliminated in today's field before re-entering or was just moved by the tournament director is unknown. What we do know is that he is back to talking even though he is wearing headphones.

In a recent pot, he was heads-up with the flop showing {8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} against Chi. He fired out a bet of 11,000 which Chi quickly called.

The Talk then jammed his remaining stack of 52,500 after the {2-Clubs} appeared on the turn and Chi quickly folded. Another player questioned The Talk on his huge overbet.

"I had the nuts and was thinking one step more," said The Talk.

He was then asked, "Why the big bet?"

He said again, "One step more," before adding that his opponent was a thinking player who likely thought why was he betting so much and might think he was weak.

The Talk now has about 120,000 in chips while Chi's stack is around what he started the day with.

The Wowa Effect

Level 8 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The three players had already built quite a massive pot when Greece's Paulos Xanthopoulos fired 25,000 on a board of {J-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Francisco Jose Blanco Racionero made the call.

German player Wowa contemplated his options before moving all-in for more than 160,000, and that was enough to rake in the pot. With that pot Wowa is up to a very respectable 270,000 chips, which looks like enough for the current chip lead at this Day 1G.

Pyzara Cracks Aces and Kings in the Same Hand

Level 8 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Kacper Pyzara
Kacper Pyzara

Fourth place finisher in the €2,200 High Roller, Kacper Pyzara, is among the players hoping to make it through in this seventh start of the partypoker LIVE Million Germany Main Event, and after quite the suck-out he looks a big favorite to do so.

Pyzara made it 5,000 to from first position and a player two seats over moved in for 55,500 total. Borge Sandsgaard in the small blind wanted in of the action and shoved before Pyzara committed his entire stack of 95,100 chips.

Seat 1: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Borge Sandsgaard: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Kacper Pyzara: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} was safe for the Norwegian's aces, but the {7-Clubs} did offer Pyzara some additional outs in the form of a gutshot straight draw. The {9-Clubs} river completed the straight for the Polish player, and Pyzara dragged the massive pot.

Geilich Will Try Again After He Was Counterfeited on River

Level 8 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

A player in the cut-off raised to 2,500 before Ludovic Geilich three-bet to 8,000 from the small blind and got a call.

Geilich led out for 9,000 on a {Q-}{10-}{5-} rainbow flop and got a call. He fired out for 25,000 after the {4-} appeared on the turn and was once again called.

The {10-} paired the board on the river. Geilich checked before his opponent jammed for around 67,000. Geilich called and showed {5-}{4-}, which proved to be no good to the {a-}{10-} held by his opponent.

He shared his thought process after the hand that although his two pair on the turn was counterfeited, his opponent could have missed many draws such as king-jack, jack-nine and hands like ace-jack.

After the hand, Geilich had about 10,000 in chips. An orbit later he got it in from the small blind with {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and was unable to outdraw his opponent who called with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} when the board ran out {7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Geilich then moved quickly to the cashier to re-enter one more time in hopes of bagging a stack to Day 2 which kicks off shortly after Day 1g is concluded.

Willis Surges to the Top

Level 9 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Jonty Willis
Jonty Willis

Jonty Willis himself described it as quite the setup, but nonetheless, the British partypoker streamer is now sporting what very well might be the biggest stack in the room.

Willis made it 4,500 with {A-}{8-} from the hijack, and the German player with the nickname Goofy reraised to 10,000 in the very next seat. Willis called, and it was heads up to the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop. Willis check-raised the 10,000 chips bet to 28,000, and back on the German, he made it 78,000 total. Willis moved all-in and was quickly called by his opponent holding {K-}{8-}, and with no kings in sight, it was the Brit to scoop up the massive pot.

Hoa Bui Chi Doubles With Sixes

Level 10 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
Hoa Bui Chi
Hoa Bui Chi

Hoa Bui Chi was just in a classic heads-up race where he was just about all-in with pocket sixes against an opponent he barely had covered who held ace-king suited.

The board not only didn't pair up his opponent, but a six on the turn gave Chi an unbeatable hand with a set. After the hand, Chi's stack went up to 135,000.

The Talk, never shy of talking, shared he was up to 150,000 at one point but now down to 100,000 in chips.

On another table, Rehman Kassam and Natalia Breviglieri were both at 115,000 in chips. Meanwhile, Ludovic Geilich was down to 85,000 on his second bullet and Philipp Gruissem also had a stack shorter than he began the day with 90,000.
