Congratulations to Ramon “hoodrathings” Liriano Jr, Winner of Event #5: $15K GTD PKO 6-Max Bounty for $3,462

The partypoker US Network Progressive Knockout (PKO) Bounty Online Series has just crowned another champion tonight after just under six hours of play.Event #5: $15K GTD PKO 6-Max Bounty had a total of 148 entries and when the last chance saloon had closed for business it was Ramon “hoodrathings” Liriano Jr reigning supreme, pulling in a total of $3,462 for his victory.

Liriano Jr had something to prove after finishing runner-up just last night in event number four and he did just that with a victory here tonight. He began the final table on the top of the food chain and once four-handed play started he took complete control, dropping all players that remained.

The heads-up portion of the event saw Anthony "Flawlessbinkage" Maio claw his way back into it after starting at a major disadvantage but a cooler prevented them from riding into the winner's circle. Liriano Jr looked down at aces and Maio had tens when the two played the last hand of the event, letting Liriano Jr keep his bounty once his aces held strong.

Action of The Day

The day began with just a few tables but it was not long before the action started to pop off. The once few tables turned into a field of 148 by the end of late registration, picking up immensely from what was first thought to be a slower night. That number brought in a total prize pool that came up just shy of the guarantee that was set.

Once the late registration period had ended it was almost time for the money bubble where Daniel "leinad" Buzgon played executioner. "Cholie" moved all in with a pair of nines and Buzgon called with sevens. The board ran out with two sevens, giving Buzgon four hockey sticks and more than enough to send his opponent out the door as all players were then in the money.

The money bubble popped, all the runners quickly started to fade, and before they knew it only six players were left fighting for the biggest piece of the pie. First to make an exit was Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo who ran his pair of dimes into the cowboys of Buzgon. The five-handed portion of the tournament was the most patient phase throughout the day, not having any big swings until Buzgon lost two hands back-to-back. The latter of the two saw his pocket kings get all-in on a turned board where "steveeee" had turned two pair, sending Buzgon to the rail.

Shortly after it was "steveeee" who went down the path of no return, whittling their stack down until a button shove with ace-ten, only to find Liriano Jr sitting in the big blind with jacks. The board ran out clean and "steveeee" failed to go back-to-back, having to settle for a respectable fourth-place finish. Liriano Jr continued with his rampage, waking up with queens on a six-high board that saw Alex "JinYang" Butcher flop a pair with a lot of outs. The two put their chips in and Liriano Jr's queens held on to take down the pot for another sweet bounty.

Liriano Jr started with a monster lead once heads-up play began and Maio quickly started to bridge the gap. Maio took over for a brief moment but that only fueled Liriano Jr who seemed to kick it into overdrive, blasting almost every pot afterward. Once Liriano Jr took the lead back over it was an unlucky hand for "Flawlessbinkage" that sent them out the door. Maio moved their chips in with a pair of tens, only to find out that Liriano Jr was holding onto the rockets. The community failed to alter the hand and "Flawlessbinkage" finished as the runner-up.

The series is open to everybody in the state of New Jersey across the three platforms of partypoker US, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker.

That wraps it up for the PokerNews live coverage of this event, but tune in tomorrow for Event #6: $20K GTD PKO 6-Max Bounty at 8 p.m. EST.
