"Stonniepokes" Wins partypoker US Network Online Series Event #2 for $1,512

Event #2 Results
Event #2 Results

It took six hours and a couple of minutes for the partypoker US Network Online Series Event #2: $5,000 GTD 6-Max R+A to play to its conclusion, and when the dust settled, "Stonniepokes" was the last one standing, earning themselves the top prize of $1,512 for their performance.

The $20 buy-in rebuy-and-addon event drew 103 entrants and amassed 131 rebuys and 46 addons through the two-hour registration period, surpassing the guaranteed prize pool to generate $5,040 in total payouts. Two hours later, two tables remained, and all 12 players still in contention had made it into the money.

During that time, "Stonniepokes" worked their way up the leader board, and found themselves at or near the top of the counts until the final table bubble, when they briefly dipped to the middle of the pack before working their way back into the top two at the final table of six.

Eventual runner up Chris “rumpthumper” White scored the first massive pot of the final table when he left "Dume27" crippled after hitting a set of nines. "Dume27" was eliminated a couple of hands later, and nearly three full levels of five-handed play then occurred before White scored his first official knockout of the final table, eliminating "Malik256077" in fifth place after his ace-three held versus king-jack in an all-in preflop situation.

White then held a sizeable chip lead, but proceeded to give up two doubles to "mooseman1710" and "TheRealJanJurik," finding himself the shortest stack among the four that remained. Moments later, his king-queen hit a queen to double against the ace-eight of "mooseman1710" and leave them short. From there, four quickly became two as "mooseman1710" was eliminated by "TheRealJanJurik," who in turn was knocked out by White just a couple of hands later.

Heads-up play saw White take a slight edge into the battle against "Stonniepokes," and he initially pulled away after winning a five-bet pot preflop. However, "Stonniepokes" doubled soon after with a straight versus two pair to amass roughly 60% of the chips in play. Moments later, stacks got in on a flop of seven-five-four. White held seven-four for two pair, but it did not hold against the seven-six of "Stonniepokes" as a running five-deuce counterfeited White and allowed the six to play as the victorious kicker.

In Level 33 with blinds of 45,000/90,000 and an ante of 11,250, there was a series of bets and raises that ensued on a flop of {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} with the end result being Chris “rumpthumper” White all in from the big blind against "Stonniepokes," who was on the button.

Chris “rumpthumper” White: {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
"Stonniepokes": {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

White found his top-and-bottom pair up against top pair and an open-ended straight draw, leaving him with 11 immediate outs that he needed to fade in order to double. Instead, the turn came {5-Hearts} to counterfeit his two pair and leave him in need of either a four to double, or any card seven-or-higher to earn the chop.

Instead, the river came {2-Diamonds} to leave the six kicker of "Stonniepokes" best and earn them the pot. White found himself out of chips and became the runner up of the event, earning $894 for his efforts. Meanwhile, "Stonniepokes" has won Event #2 for $1,512. A full recap of the tournament will be provided shortly.

"mooseman1710": {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
"TheRealJanJurik": {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

"mooseman1710" did not stay ahead for long as the flop {6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades} put their pair of eights firmly behind the top pair of kings that "TheRealJanJurik" found. Nothing changed as the turn {6-Clubs} and river {10-Diamonds} completed the runout and "mooseman1710" finished the tournament in fourth place, earning $466.

Hand #2: Two hands later, "TheRealJanJurik" was in the big blind and involved in a heads-up pot against Chris "rumpthumper" White with their newfound stack of 1.88 million. Stacks ended up getting in on the turn with a board reading {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} after "TheRealJanJurik" check-shoved all in and was quickly called.

"TheRealJanJurik": {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Chris “rumpthumper” White: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

"TheRealJanJurik" found themselves up against an overpair and flush draw, and they needed to hit one of the two remaining nines in the deck to stay alive. Neither came on the river {7-Diamonds} and they were eliminated in third place for a payday of $632.
