partypoker US Network Online Series (June 21-28)

"gisappak" has just won the partypoker US Network Online Series Event #9: $15,000 GTD NLH for $5,246 in commanding style. The $215 buy-in event drew 86 entries to generate a prize pool of $17,200, with the top 10 players finding a payday. But of those 10, "gisappak" was the one in control the entire time en route to victory.

"gisappak" was first seen in the tournament nearing the beginning of the third hour of play. An hour later as the late registration was about to close, they had ascended the rungs of the leader board and became chip leader. The field was cut in half within 20 minutes of the registration period closing, and "gisappak" entered hand-for-hand play with an even bigger chip lead.

Event #6 Winner COMEATTHEKING found themselves eliminated on the bubble in 11th place, to result in all 10 remaining players making it into the money. "jjtes" then fell in 10th place ($473) on the final table bubble and to bring about the final table of nine.

"JoeRossi" and Alex "JinYang" Butcher fell shorty after the final table was reached when "JoeRossi" saw their kings cracked all-in preflop and then Butcher saw his aces cracked in the same fashion. Seven then remained, and "gisappak" eclipsed 1 million after knocking out "chromeking" with pocket queens to ace-jack on a jack-high board.

Six players quickly became three after "gisappak" knocked out "bigcakes1" in sixth and followed it up with a double-knockout of "BigDickRick" and "rounder1420" when their tens held up against their unpaired hands. Forty minutes then went by before "gisappak" knocked out "MistaMenza" in third place, and they proceeded to run the table with a quick heads-up match that was punctuated with an all-in preflop situation that left second-place finisher "Core4" drawing dead by the turn, having no sweat whatsoever to seal the victory and earn a payday of more than $5,000 for their efforts.

Hand #1: In Level 29 with blinds of 25,000/50/000 and an ante of 6,250, "Core4" limped in on the button and "gisappak" checked their option. The flop came and action went check-check.

The turn fell and "gisappak" checked again. "Core4" bet 50,000 and "gisappak" called, bringing the river . "gisappak" led out, firing 159,000 and "Core4" called.

"gisappak" showed for flopped trips and "Core4" mucked, finding themselves down to 555,000.

Hand #2: A few hands later, "Core4" got their last 10 big blinds all in on the button and received action.

"Core4" had two live cards but were in trouble after the flop came . The turn left them drawing dead, locking in victory for "gisappak" as the river completed the runout. In Level 28 with blinds of 20,000/40,000 and an ante of 5,000, "MistaMenza" shoved for 521,000 in the small blind and "gisappak" called in the big blind.

In Level 24 with blinds of 12,000/24,000 and an ante of 3,000, "BigDickRick" jammed for 177,000 in the cutoff and "rounder1420" re-jammed for 364,000 in the small blind. "gisappak" was in the big blind and quickly called both shoves.

Early in Level 24 (12,000/24,000/3,000), "MistaMenza" found a double through "bigcakes1" to leave them with under 200,000.

A couple of hands later, action folded around to "gisappak" in the small blind and they jammed to put "bigcakes1" all in in the big blind for 154,000. "bigcakes1" called.

"bigcakes1" was unable to hit anything on the runout and they were eliminated in sixth place as a result of their back-to-back unfavorable runouts.

On the last hand before break in Level 22 with blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, action folded around to "chromeking" in the hijack and they opened to 32,000. "gisappak" called in the cutoff and all remaining players folded, taking action heads up to a flop of . "chromeking" checked and "gisappak" made a bet of 51,000. "chromeking" called.

The turn came and "chromeking" checked again. "gisappak" went all in for the effective 225,000 that remained in "chromeking's" stack, which they immediately called.

In Level 22 with blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, Alex "JinYang" Butcher got his 273,000 into the middle on the button preflop against "rounder1420," who was in early position and had Butcher at risk for his tournament life.

Butcher was in prime shape for a huge double and the flop looked good for him. However, the turn spelled disaster, leaving him as the one in need of hitting the two outer. With one shot to go, he bricked out on the river and became the eighth-place finisher as a result.

In Level 14 with blinds of 2,000/4,000 and an ante of 500, "UFOLDIWIN" jammed for 70,000 in middle position and action folded around to the small blind, where "alwaysliquid" called for less.
