"deerpathdave"
"deerpathdave"

In Level 23 with blinds of 10,000/20,000 and an ante of 2,500 "BoozeHound" opened to 44,000 under the gun and "deerpathdave" three-bet shoved for 143,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back to "BoozeHound" and they called.

"deerpathdave": {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
"BoozeHound": {10-Spades}{9-Spades}

The flop {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} put "BoozeHound" out in front with a pair of tens and they stayed there as running {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} came to finish the hand and eliminate "deerpathdave" from the tournament in sixth place.

"Karibou" Eliminated in 7th Place ($441 + $150 in Bounties)

"Karibou"
"Karibou"

In Level 22 with blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, all of the chips went into the middle preflop with "Karibou" at risk for their last 266,000 in the small blind against "Borgatcha", who was in the cutoff.

"Karibou": {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
"Borgatcha": {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Hitting top two pair on a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Spades} wasn't enough for "Karibou" as the turn {2-Spades} gave "Borgatcha" a flush. "Karibou" did not hit a four outer on the river {3-Diamonds} to improve to a full house and they were eliminated in 7th place as a result.

Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo Eliminated in 8th Place ($341 + $225 in bounties)

Daniel Lupo
Daniel Lupo

In Level 22 with blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo jammed for his last 141,000 in the hijack and was called by "pay4medsch00l" in the big blind.

Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
"pay4medsch00l": {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Lupo remained ahead all the way through the flop {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and turn {9-Diamonds}, but the river {7-Spades} spelled doom as it gave "pay4medsch00l" a pair of sevens that sent Lupo out in eighth, earning a combined $566 between prizes and bounties.

Hagerty First To Fall After Reaching the Money; "njpokeraa" Follows To Reach the Final Table

Ryan Hagerty
Ryan Hagerty

In Level 21 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty shoved for 217,000 in the hijack and "deerpathdave" re-shoved on the button for 351,000. All remaining players folded.

Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
"deerpathdave": {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Hagerty saw the wrong card pair on the flop of {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, leaving him needing to improve still to stay alive. He was unable to do so as the turn {10-Hearts} and river {8-Clubs} completed the runout to leave "deerpathdave" with the best hand in two queens to earn them the pot and the knockout.

Moments later, "njpokeraa" was also eliminated and eight players now remain on the final table.

"Gohednpopoff" Doubles on the Bubble; "Cara2Cacra" Bursts It

"Cara2Cacra"
"Cara2Cacra"

Hand #1: In Level 21 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, all of the chips went into the middle preflop between "njpokeraa" in the big blind and the at-risk "Gohednpopoff", who was in the hijack at a five-handed table.

"Gohednpopoff": {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
"njpokeraa": {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

"Gohednpopoff" doubled their stack of 216,000 as the board ran out safely, coming {5-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}.

Hand #2: Two hands later, "Cara2Cacra" got their last 157,000 all in in the big blind against "Borgatcha", who was in the hijack.

"Cara2Cacra": {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
"Borgatcha": {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}

The flop {4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts} left "Cara2Cacra" drawing to nothing more than running wheel outs, and the turn {6-Diamonds} dashed those hopes. The river {10-Diamonds} completed the runout to make the hand official and "Cara2Cacra" became the official bubble finisher of the tournament.

All 10 who remain are now in the money and have earned $299.25 plus all applicable bounties.

The Bubble Continues

"SnashuaJ"
"SnashuaJ"

In Level 20 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, "Karibou" limped under the gun and "SnashuaJ" limped behind in the hijack. Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo completed his small blind and "deerpathdave" checked their option in the big blind to take action four ways to a flop of {4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. All four players checked.

Three checks brought action onto "SnashuaJ" on the turn {10-Clubs} and they bet 30,000. Only "Karibou" called and action went heads up to the river {8-Clubs}, where both players checked to go to showdown.

"Karibou" showed {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} and saw that the river gave "SnashuaJ" the best hand with their {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. With no other pots of note nearing the end of Level 20, the bubble continues with 11 still remaining.

Get to Know Family Man & Stock Trader Don "dhimp20" Himpele

Don Himpele
Don Himpele

If you’ve ever played poker either at Borgata or online in New Jersey, there’s a good chance you’ve crossed paths with Don Himpele, who has more than $630K in online lifetime tournament earnings and $89K in live scores on HendonMob.

Himpele, a father of five who has been married for 24 years, graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in Business and Economics, and for the last 25 years he has worked as a trader on the New York Stock Exchange as a Managing Director for Goldman Sachs and IMC Trading. So how did the professional family man find poker?

“I began playing as a teenager,” he told PokerNews. “My mother was an early influence and taught me many ‘gameplay skills.’ I have combined that and my skills as a trader to make strong decisions on the felt.”

He continued: “I consider myself a recreational player, as family and work obligations don't allow for a robust live game tournament schedule. I do play the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main yearly, and many Parx Big Stax tournaments. I am a regular online tournament player who targets buy-ins usually ranging from $200-$2,000. I play in local cash games – usually $5/$10.”

While he only plays when his schedule allows, it’s worth noting Himpele has been playing for a long time. In fact, one of his favorite poker memories stems all the way back to the 2004 WSOP Main Event.

“My most notable experience was my first WSOP Main Event in 2004 and sitting at ESPN feature TV table with top pros,” he recalled. “Also, I cashed in the 2010 WSOP Main Event after being sponsored by Absolute Poker.”

While his Absolute Poker days are behind him, Himpele does spend a fair amount of time competing on the partypoker US Network, which is comprised of partypoker US, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker.

“partypoker US brings a strong level of competition and I particularly like when they run a series as it brings a variety of games and a strong turnout with a commensurate prize pool,” said Himpele. “I have a lot of respect for New Jersey's top pros such as Mike Lavenburg, Mike Gagliano, Katie Stone and David Coleman. I enjoy the challenge of battling against them as a test of skill.”

Eleven Remain On Break

Play is two-thirds of the way through Level 19 (5,000/10,000/1,250) and 11 players still remain with the tournament on the direct money bubble upon reaching a five-minute break. Updated chip counts for all remaining players have been provided below.
