Get to Know BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Daniel Buzgon

Dan Buzgon
Dan Buzgon

In early 2019, Daniel Buzgon signed on as a BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro – one of three alongside Michael “Gags” Gagliano and Katie Stone.

“It took a little bit of time to get all the paperwork and stuff like that,” Buzgon previously told PokerNews of becoming sponsored. “It was in December when it started but wasn’t official until just before the Borgata Winter series. Duties include mainly playing a lot online, promoting the site, and trying to get new players on the site.”

According to HendonMob, Buzgon has more than $2.3 million in lifetime live tournament earnings since 2007. He’s a four-time World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner has played for big money before. In 2001, he finished third in the WPT Borgata Poker Open for $335,433, and last year he finished fifth in the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event for $202,942. He also finished fourth in the 2012 WPT bestbet Jacksonville for $94,624.

Additionally, Buzgon is a beast online where he’s amassed more than $3.1 million in earnings, of which $435,457 has come on BorgataPoker.com where he plays under the screen name “leinad.”

Buzgon was working with a short stack the past few levels, but headed into the second break of the day he's managed to climb back nearly to the starting stack with 96,174.

Buzgon Working Up His Short Stack

In Level 9 (1,000/2,000/250), action folded to BorgataPoker.com Ambassador Daniel Buzgon in the small blind. He was on a short stack and opted to just limp, which inspired "Rennan23" to check their option from the big.

"Rennan23" proceeded to call a bet of 2,000 on the {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop and then call one of 6,800 on the {a-Clubs} turn.

When the {4-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Buzgon jammed all in for 25,962 and that shook "Rennan23" off the hand with a fold.

"MoltenLight" Takes from Katie Stone

In Level 6 (500/1,000/125), "MoltenLight" raised to 2,200 from middle position and BorgataPoker.com Ambassador Katie Stone called from the button.

Both blinds got out of the way and the flop fell {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, which both players checked.

When the {a-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, "MoltenLight" put out a delayed continuation-bet of 4,683 and that did the trick as Stone laid down her hand.

Buzgon Takes It w/ Continuation-Bet

In Level 6 (500/1,000/125), "LagTart" raised to 1,280 from middle position and Daniel Buzgon, who was next to act in the hijack, three-bet to 6,800. "Kadabras," who last night won Event #17: $15,000 GTD Black Chip Bounty NLH, flatted on the button, both blinds folded, and "LagTart" called to see the {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop.

"LagTart" checked, Buzgon continued for 8,888, and both his opponents folded to give him the pot.
