Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty Wins partypoker US Network Online Series Event #4 for $4,154

Ryan Hagerty
Ryan Hagerty

Wednesday night was Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty's time to shine on the partypoker US Network, winning Event #4 of January's Online Series for $4,154.

The $215 buy-in turbo saw 85 entries generate a total prize pool of $17,000, and with five-minute levels, the event went as fast as it came. Hagerty was in the middle of the pack as the tournament made it into the money with 14 paying, but then found three consecutive eliminations when 11 remained to take the tournament to the final table, doing so with a sizeable chip lead he would use to eventually amass every chip in play.

"Wacek18" was the one to get out to a fast start, holding the chip lead for most of the 16-level late registration period. However, they ran out of steam and were eventually knocked out on the bubble by fifth-place finisher "King_Icon". BorgataPoker.com Ambassadors Katie "KatieStone" Stone and Daniel "leinad" Buzgon also appeared as if they were going to make runs, but Stone was one of the three knocked out by Hagerty shy of the final table and Buzgon became the first casualty when the final eight were reached.

Ross "thehebrewhammer" Gottlieb was another to make a late charge, bringing a big stack into the money before fizzing out when their pocket kings were cracked by the pocket threes of fourth-place finisher "xxx6395200xxx", while both James "Bagels" Lillis and Chris "rumpthumper" White also had hot streaks near the end before Lillis fell to White, and then White ran his ace-queen into Hagerty's pocket kings to seal the deal and earn Hagerty the W.

Chris "rumpthumper" White Eliminated in 2nd Place ($2,873)

In Level 31 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and an ante of 6,250, all of the chips went into the middle preflop after Chris "rumpthumper" White re-jammed in the big blind over an open from Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty, who was on the button and immediately called the shove.

Chris "rumpthumper" White: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

White saw the bad news with his ace-queen up against a couple of cowboys. Nothing more than a pair of sixes came on board of a runout {6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} to leave Hagerty's hand on top, and White was eliminated in second place as a result.

Meanwhile, Ryan Hagerty has taken down Event #4 for $4,154. A recap of the event will be provided shortly.

James Lillis

In Level 31 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and an ante of 6,250, all of the chips had gone into the middle on a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} with Chris "rumpthumper" White in the small blind covering James "Bagels" Lillis, who was in the big blind.

James "Bagels" Lillis: {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Chris "rumpthumper' White: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The turn came {6-Spades}, and Lillis found a {5-Clubs} on the river thereafter but it was too little and too late as it had already been counterfeited. White's queen kicker proved to be the difference in the hand, and Lillis was eliminated in third as a result.

In Level 31 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and an ante of 6,250, "xxx6395200xxx" jammed for 258,000 in the small blind and was called by Chris "rumpthumper" White in the big blind.

"xxx6395200xxx": {8-Spades}{7-Spades}
Chris "rumpthumper" White: {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

"xxx6395200xxx" had two live cards but neither hit on the flop {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. They picked up a flush draw on the turn {6-Spades} to add nine more outs to their total, but every single one missed on the river {j-Clubs} and they were eliminated by White in fourth place.

In Level 29 with blinds of 18,000/36,000 and an ante of 4,500, "King_Icon" jammed for 290,000 in the hijack and action folded to James "Bagels" Lillis in the big blind, who called.

"King_Icon": {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}
James "Bagels" Lillis: {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}

A chop seemed all but certain as the flop {3-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Spades} and turn {q-Clubs} appeared, but the river {2-Hearts} gave Lillis a pair of deuces and sent "King_Icon" out in fifth as a result.

James "Bagels" Lillis: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

"joey1way" did not hit an ace as the runout came {q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and they were eliminated in sixth as a result, earning $994 for their efforts.

In Level 27 with blinds of 14,000/28,000 and an ante of 3,500, Ross "thehebrewhammer" Gottlieb was on the button and re-shoved for 266,000 over a middle-position open from "xxx6395200xxx", who called once action made it back to them.

Ross "thehebrewhammer" Gottlieb: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
"xxx6395200xxx": {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The flop {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades} spelled doom for Gottlieb, giving his opponent a set of threes that remained best as the turn {a-Hearts} and river {q-Spades} completed the runout to bring about his seventh-place finish.

In Level 26 with blinds of 12,000/24,000 and an ante of 3,000, Daniel "leinad" Buzgon three-bet shoved for 391,000 in the cutoff over a middle-position open from "xxx6395200xxx", who called to put the BorgataPoker.com Ambassador at risk for his tournament life.

Daniel "leinad" Buzgon: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
"xxx6395200xxx": {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Unfortunately for Buzgon, he had run a big ace into an even bigger one. Even more unfortunately for him, no help came on the runout {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Clubs} and he was eliminated in 8th place as a result.

Hagerty Eliminates Three To Reach The Final Table

Ryan Hagerty
Ryan Hagerty

In Level 26 with blinds of 12,000/24,000 and an ante of 3,000, Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty opened to 48,000 in the hijack and saw "SaltSea" three-bet shove for 83,000 in the small blind. Katie "KatieStone" Stone folded her big blind to send action back to Hagerty, who wasted no time calling.

"SaltSea": {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

"SaltSea" was unable to find another trey on the runout {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and was eliminated in 11th place. Moments later, Stone herself was also eliminated by Hagerty in 10th, and nine remained as hand-for-hand play began.

Once hand-for-hand play began, "Cholie" was moved to balance tables and called off their remaining 235,000 in the big blind after Hagerty put them all in from the small blind.

"Cholie": {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The flop came {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades} to all but ensure a double for "Cholie" until the unimaginable happened in running {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} to give Hagerty trips and eliminate "Cholie" in ninth place just moments after they found their new seat at the table.

With the trio of eliminations, eight players now remain and the final table has officially been reached. Updated chip counts have been provided for all eight who remain.

Hubbard Loses A Coin Flip To Bust; Hand-For-Hand Begins On Final Two Tables

Stephanie Hubbard
Stephanie Hubbard

In Level 22 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,250, Stephanie "Stephhub0331" Hubbard scored a double just after break and then got all in preflop in the big blind against Katie "Katiestone" Stone, who was in the hijack.

Stephanie "Stephhub0331" Hubbard: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Katie "Katiestone" Stone: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Hubbard found herself on the wrong side of the coin flip as the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Spades} to earn Stone the pot and the knockout with her pair of tens. At the same time as her elimination, Ted "roystalin" Ely was also eliminated, and the pair of eliminations brings the field down to 15 and one away from reaching the money.

Two tables now remain, and hand-for-hand play is in effect until one more elimination occurs.
