Welcome to the second starting flight of the very popular Big Stax poker series here at Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania as Day 1b Big Stax XXXI 500 is set to get underway at 11 a.m local time. Yesterday saw a total of 249 entries come out for the first starting flight and at the end of the night, only 45 players found a bag for Day 2.

Leading the Day 1a players was Sameer Batra, who bagged 502,500 by night's end. Second in chips was Thomas Holowchuk (474,500 ). Holowchuk staggered around the 200,000 mark until one of the very last hands of the night, when he took down a huge hand to catapult him into second in chips.

Another player who had a late-night push was Nicholas Bilotti, who bagged third in chips with (410,500) and ended the night withMike Kemeter (402,000) and John Forsyth 392,000) to round out the top five stacks.

Parx Big Stax XXXI 500 Outlook

Today's starting flights will kicks off at 11 a.m. All starting flights will play through Level 15. The surviving players from each flight will combine for Day 2 action on Sunday, October 6th, with the final table set to play out on Monday, October 7th.

The tournament will start players with 40,000 in chips with blinds lasting 45-minute for the starting flights. Day 2 will see levels upped to 60 minutes, while the final day will see them increased to 90 minutes .

15-minute breaks will occur after levels 3, 6 and 12 on each Day 1 with a dinner break at 6:30 p.m. It is an unlimited re-entry and best-stack-forward event. Late registration and re-entry will be available until Level 17 begins.

The tournament will be held in Parx East (3rd floor) for each starting flight, with Day 2 and the final day will taking place in the poker room in the main casino.
