Tonzelli Goes From 30k to 685k in Three Hours

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Anthony Tonzelli
Anthony Tonzelli

It's been a big Day 2 so far for Anthony Tonzelli, who was a late registrant that just joined the field at the beginning of Day 2.

Tonzelli sat down with a the 30,000 starting stack and the blinds at 2000/4000/4000, and he's turned that 7.5 big blind stack into nearly 700k in less than four levels.

Tonzelli is no stranger to success in tournament poker, with more than $227,000 in career earnings. He's already added to that total with today'a money finish, and could be poised to make a deep run despite the late, short-stacked start.

Kromas Bets Big, Gets Fold

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The cutoff opened to 22,000, and Boris Kromas called in the big blind.

Kromas checked the {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, the cutoff bet 22,000, Kromas raised to 65,000, and the cutoff called.

With his opponent well covered, Kromas went all in on the {2-Spades} turn, making it 372,000 for the cutoff to call off his remaining stack.

The cutoff tanked for a bit, then folded, showing the {10-Diamonds}.
