The Matador Wins One

On a flop of {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {2-Hearts}, Carlos Mortensen fired 4,200 after one player checked to him. A third player in the hand made the call and then the first player folded.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and Mortensen fired the same bet of 4,200. Again, he was called.

After the river card came the {A-Spades}, Mortensen and his opponent checked. Mortensen's {K-Spades} {J-Spades} was the winning hand and he moved to 120,000 chips.

Grospellier Gets it in Good

A middle-position player came in raising to 3,000, and Bertrand "ElkY" moved all in for 13,300. The table folded back around, and the raiser called to put the Team PokerStars Pro at risk.

Showdown
ElkY: {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs}

The table frowned in unison as ElkY was in good shape to double back into contention. The board came down {9-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs}, holding the pocket jacks and notching that dangerous double for Grospellier.

Boeken Paid Off with Flush

Noah Boeken opened the action with a raise to 2,400 from middle position. The player on the button made the call.

"How much do you have?" asked Boeken, peering over at his opponent's stack as the two went to a flop.

The flop was dealt {Q-Spades} {J-Clubs} {2-Spades}. Boeken paused and then fired 3,500. His opponent stuck around by making the call.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Boeken checked. His opponent checked behind a moment later.

The river card completed the board with the {A-Spades}. Boeken fired out 11,000. His opponent made the call and watched at Boeken turned over the nut flush -- {K-Spades} {9-Spades}. The button mucked and Boeken cruised to 94,000 chips.

Finding Wheels in the River

Chartier Opened With What?

Sam Chartier was faced with a bet of 7,800 on the final board of {10-Hearts} {8-Spades} {4-Spades} {Q-Spades} {2-Diamonds} from his opponent. After tanking for some time, Chartier put in the chips to make the call. His opponent held only ace high with the {A-Spades} {6-Hearts}. Chartier rolled over the {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} for just a pair of fours and won the pot.

It was then found out that Chartier had opened the pot from under the gun with this hand. He now has 104,000 chips.

Paul-Ambrose Movin' Up

The hijack seat opened to 3,500 before Team PokerStars Pro Steve Paul-Ambrose three-bet to 9,200 from the cutoff seat. The original raiser then called and the two players took a flop of {K-Hearts} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts}.

The first player checked to Paul-Ambrose, who fired 8,600. His opponent check-raised to 17,200, a min-raise. Paul-Ambrose took a few moments and then moved in for 38,300 total. His opponent folded and Paul-Ambrose moved to nearly 60,000 chips.
