Day 2 Coming Up

Another frenzy of tournament poker is set to kick off at 12:00 p.m. local time here in The Bahamas for the 2010 PokerStars.net Caribbean Adventure. The total number of entrants reached 1,529, eclipsing last year's field by 182 players. A packed field of 884 will be returning today.

The overall chip leader entering Day 2 of play is PokerStars online qualifier Wayne Bentley. He stormed to the top of the pack a couple days ago on Day 1a, amassing 329,500 chips. That's nearly double the chip leader from Day 1b, Anibal Tacla.

There's plenty of Team PokerStars Pros still left in the field as well. Peter Eastgate, Florian Langmann, Vanessa Rousso, Marcel Luske, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu are some of those that have above average stacks coming into the second day of action. Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier, Chad Brown and Ivan Demidov are some of those who bagged up less than they started the tournament with.

If you're not that into poker superstars, we've got a few sports stars that you may want to hear about. MLB pitching ace Orel Hershiser, Dutch field hockey pro Fatima de Melo and NHL star Mats Sundin still remain.

November Niners Phil Ivey, Kevin Schaffel and Eric Buchman are still here and the list goes on and on.

Play is scheduled to wrap up after Level 14 today and each level will last 75 minutes from here on out. Also, the tables are going to begin nine-handed and break down to eight-handed.
