PokerStars Pro Down

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

We're not sure how it happened, but we just watched Team PokerStars Pro (USA) member Dennis Phillips rise from his chair, put on his iconic red St. Louis Cardinals hat, and make his exit from the tournament area. He has officially been eliminated on Day 1a of the 2011 PokerStars.Net Caribbean Adventure.

Moorman Losing Ground

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With 9,400 in the pot and a board reading {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, Chris Moorman checked to his sole opponent on the button, who fired out a bet of 3,000. Moorman made the call and the pair watched the {10-Spades} hit the river. Both players checked and the button flipped {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for two pair. It was good as Moorman slid his cards in the muck and dropped down to 19,000.

One PokerStars Pro Thrives While Another Fails to Survive

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

A player in middle position raised to 600 and action folded to Team PokerStars Pro (Italy) Dario Minieri in the big blind. He called the additional 400 and the two saw a flop of {3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Minieri checked, middle position bet 1,400, Minieri check-raised to 3,500, and middle position quickly moved all in for around 16,000. Minieri gave it a few moment's thought before releasing. He is still in good shape with a stack of 63,000.

On the other end of the spectrum, Team PokerStars Pro (USA) member Vanessa Selbst recently busted. She had bluffed off 30,000 of her stack and couldn't manage to make a comeback with the remaining 10k or so.

Toth Forces Gimbel Out

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

With about 19,000 in the pot and the board reading {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Team PokerStars Pro Richard Toth bet about 23,000, more than Harrison Gimbel's remaining stack. Gimbel thought it over for a few minutes, carefully breaking down his stack to see what he had remaining (about 16,300). He looked at Toth and smiled. "Close," said Gimbel, before tossing his hand to the muck.

Toth, meanwhile, upped his stack to about 44,000.

Heimiller Up, Minieri Down

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

Dan Heimiller, Dario Minieri and a third player all saw a {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Spades} flop moments ago on Table 11. Minieri led for 1,225 and Heimiller was the only player to call.

Both players checked the {j-Diamonds} on the turn and after the {5-Clubs} came on the river Minieri checked again. Heimiller did not, rather he bet 2,800 forcing a fold and winning him the pot.

After the hand Heimiller has 43,000 in chips while Minieri falls to 51,000.

Busquet vs. Deeb

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

Action folded to Olivier Busquet in the cutoff and he raised to 700. Shaun Deeb was next to act on the button and called. Both blinds seemed to know that action players were in the hand and volunteered to give up their hands.

On a flop of {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Hearts}, Busquet bet 1,300 and Deeb once again called. Both players checked the {5-Clubs} turn and followed suit on the {8-Hearts} river. Busquet flipped over his {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for queen high but was downed by the {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} of Deeb, who took down the pot and increased his stack to around 35,000.

Take a Glantz at this Mediocre Hand

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

Jonathan Aguiar was under the gun and raised to 800. Action folded all the way around to Matt Glantz in the small blind and he made the call, as did the player in the big blind. Three players watched the flop fall {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Glantz led out for a bet of 900. His opponents folded and he increased his stack to 21,500. Not too exciting, but maybe enough to hold you Glantz fans over for awhile.
