Corkins Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Hoyt Corkins
Hoyt Corkins

We didn't catch the hand, but the seat formerly occupied by Hoyt Corkins is empty and void of chips. We don't see him anywhere in the room, so it all adds up to one thing . . . he has been eliminated.

Finneran Doubles Through Buchman

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Eric Buchman opened from late position before Irishman Thomas Finneran three-bet shoved for 70,000 more from the big blind. Buchman tanked for nearly a minute before finally making the call and the hands were turned over.

Buchman: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Finneran: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop was safe for Buchman's wired sixes, and Finneran even stood up from his seat half-admitting defeat. The Irishman took his seat again after the {a-Hearts} spiked on the turn though, and Buchman uttered a few choice words directed at lady luck.

The {4-Diamonds} on the river didn't change anything and Finneran doubled his stack to 150,000 chips. Buchman, despite losing the flip, is still very healthy with 500,000 chips.

Greenberg Eliminates Chinn

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Rory Chinn was under the gun and moved all in for his last 68,000 with {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Lawrence Greenberg was the next player to act and moved all in over the top for around 105,000 with {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The rest of the players got out of the way as the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Chinn was eliminated from the tournament while Greenberg chipped up to a little over 200,000.

A Milli

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Adam Geyer entered the day with the chip lead and hasn't looked back since. He's currently up to 1.1 million chips and is the first player to break the million-chip threshold this tournament.

Lee Cracks Aces . . . For a Minute

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Bernard Lee
Bernard Lee

Bernard Lee was seen exiting the tournament floor but was kind enough to fill us in on his elimination hand. According to Lee, his opponent raised preflop to 14,000 and Lee shipped his remaining 67,000 in the pot. His opponent snap-called and showed {A-}{A-}, which was far ahead of Lee's {6-}{6-}.

The {10-}{10-}{2-} flop was no help to Lee, but a {6-} on the turn gave him a full house and the lead. Unfortunately for him, the river was a {10-} and his opponent had tens full of aces. Lee hit the rail in brutal fashion.

Lendavi Hits the Rail

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante

Tamas Lendvai was all in preflop with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} against the {K-Spades}{J-Hearts} Joel Patchell. The {J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop was disaster for Lendavi and he needed a ten or running straight cards on the turn and river to survive. The {5-Diamonds} turn was no help and neither was the {2-Diamonds} river. Lendavi hit the rail while Patchell is up to a little over 300,000.

Busse Doubles Through Chip Leader

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante

2010 WSOP bracelet winner Shawn Busse was all in preflop for his last 155,000 chips against our leader Adam Geyer moments ago. Busse's {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} was racing against Geyer's {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and the {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop brought a nice sweat. The {8-Spades} on the turn was a brick and although the river was red, the {10-Hearts} changed nothing and Busse doubled to 320,000 chips.

Geyer has no reason to fret, he still has a massive stack with 990,000 chips.
