Spadavecchia Doubles Through Wiemes

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Philippe Plouffe opened to 50,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Wesley Wiemes who three-bet to 125,000 in the hijack seat. The cutoff mucked and John Spadavecchia moved all in for 288,000. Plouffe asked for a count of Wieme's stack (approximately 680,000), but eventually folded. Wiemes snapped it off though, and it was off to the races.

Wiemes: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Spadavecchia: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

There was a brief pause for the camera crew before the dealer wrapped the table, burned a card, dealt the flop face down and then turned the cards over with the {a-Diamonds} in the window followed by {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

Spadavecchia gave a slight fist pump and Wiemes asked for the {10-Diamonds} on the turn. The {3-Spades} was not what Wiemes was asking for however, and he was now down to just two outs. The {8-Clubs} was yet another blank for Wiemes who saw his stack dwindle to 400,000 chips.

Spadavecchia starts the day with a double and is now up to 660,000 chips.
