Shiff Wins Flip

After a series of preflop raises, Daniel Shiff was all in against Cristian Folescu, and over 450,000 chips were in the middle.

Showdown
Shiff: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Folescu: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop pushed Folescu into the lead, but the {j-Hearts} slammed on the river, giving Shiff a full house. The {9-Hearts} bricked on the river, and Shiff gave a hearty fist pump. Folescu dipped to around 520,000 chips, while Shiff shipped a nice double.

Two Outers FTW

Artem Kachnyy opened near the button, and Chad Eveslage three-bet shoved for 68,000 more than the original raise. Kachnyy went into the tank for quite some time, but eventually made the call. Eveslage turned over {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, and Kachnyy rapped the table then turned over {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

The {2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop was clean, but the {3-Spades} spiked on the turn, giving Kachnyy a set of threes. The {6-Hearts} on the river was a brick, and Eveslage was sent packing. Kachnyy is now among out leaders with well over 700,000 chips.

Pagano Holds For the Knockout

Kevin Bromfield raised to 13,000 from the button, and Luca Pagano three-bet to 43,500 next door. When the decision came back around to Bromfield, he shoved his short stack in, and Pagano called the remainder to put him at risk.

Showdown
Bromfield: {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}
Pagano: {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}

Pagano was poised for the knockout with his dominating ten, and the {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} board sent Bromfield on his way. Pagano's been very active today at the featured table, and his stack has been up and down like a yo-yo. It's up again now, and the sharply dressed Italian is back over 450,000.

Ninety-Nine, I've Been Waiting So Long

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Shrinking tournament area

The number on the big board has ticked down to 99 players remaining, and we're breaking inwards into a small grid in the very corner of the room. The number is ticking down quickly, and we've still got a full three levels to play today.

We'll set the over/under at 55.5 players left by the end of the night.

Sabat Chipping Up

From under the gun, Eddy Sabat raised to 13,500. Artem Kachnyy called in the cutoff seat, Viacheslav Igin called from the small blind and Team PokerStars Pro Christian De Leon called from the big blind.

The flop came down {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Igin checked. De Leon also checked and then Sabat bet 28,000. After Kachnyy folded, Igin called. De Leon also folded.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs} and Igin checked. Sabat bet what looked to be 55,000 and Igin mucked his hand.

Peters Binks a Double

There was about 60,000 in the pot when we walked up to the turn of a {4-Spades} {J-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {5-Hearts} board. It was heads-up, and David Peters was leading the betting with 32,000 chips. Sergio Garcia raised all in behind him, and Peters called off his last 108,000 chips to put himself at risk.

Showdown
Peters: {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}
Garcia: {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}

The river was the blank {4-Diamonds}, and Peters has doubled his way back up to about 285,000, essentially trading places with Garcia.

Liu's House is Full

Xuan Liu is the last woman standing, and she just eliminated Anton Astapov, adding to her stack. All of the chips went in the middle preflop, and the hands looked like this:

Showdown
Liu: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Astapov: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Liu was behind, but took the lead when the flop fell {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Another queen - the {q-Diamonds} - fell on the turn, and the {6-Spades} completed the board. Astapov hit the rail, while Liu reached eclipsed the 400,000-chip mark.
