Klodnicki's Queens Hold Against Gregg's Ace-King

From early position, Anthony Gregg raised to 6,500. Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu made the call from the hijack seat, then action fell on Chris Klodnicki in the cutoff seat. Klodnicki paused, then reraised to 16,500.

Following Klodnicki's three-bet, action folded back over to Gregg, the original raiser. He put in a four-bet to 42,000, and that knocked Negreanu out of the way as he folded. Klodnicki took his time, then announced that he was all in. After one more quick peek at his hand, Gregg called.

Klodnicki was the player at risk, and he held the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. His stack of 177,600 was on the line, creating a pot of around 370,000 in this battle against Gregg's {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

On the flop, the {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} fell, and Klodnicki held his lead. The turn brought the {9-Hearts}, leaving Gregg needing an ace or a king on the river.

The {7-Clubs} river card sealed the double up for Klodnicki, as his queens held up in the big flip. Gregg, who has made the final table of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event twice in his career, was kicked all the way back to under 50,000.
