Selbst Busts Baker on Feature Table

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Vanessa Selbst Over 600k
Vanessa Selbst Over 600k

Vanessa Selbst made it 8,500 from early position and found a call from Patricio Rojas in the hijack. It folded to David "ODB" Baker in the big blind and he announced a three-bet all in for 119,00. Selbst wasted little time moving all in over the top and Rojas let his cards go.

Selbst: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Baker: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The flop came down {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Selbst's ladies stayed in the lead. Fourth street brought the {J-Spades} to the felt which left Baker searching for one of the two remaining eights to stay alive in the tournament. In the end, it was Selbst who made a set on the river with the {Q-Clubs}, ensuring that Baker would be eliminated from play.

Selbst dragged in the pot and is now sitting on 607,000 in chips.

Stout Over Smith

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The flop read {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Dan Smith fired out a bet of 18,000. We found Matt Stout pondering and action and after a moment of thinking he decided to call.

The {4-Diamonds} hit the turn and Smith slowed with a check. Stout took this opportunity to bet 34,000 and Smith called. The {K-Clubs} touched down on the river and Smith tapped the table for the second street in a row. Stout reached for his stack with both hands and moved every chip forward for a bet of 108,000. Smith thought for quite some time before finally opting to release his hand. Stout dragged in the chips and now has about 240,000.

Antonio Esfandiari

Ole Schemion and Antonio Esfandiari have both been eliminated on the Main Feature table.

Schemion open-shoved for 74,000 on the button holding {k-Spades}{9-Spades}, Thomas Hall called in the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and the board came {4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

A few hands later, Esfandiari three-bet all in for 44,500 with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, and Hall cold-called with {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The Brit won the race as the flop, turn, and river came {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and Esfandiari hit the rail.

Jason Mercier

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier has just been eliminated. Mercier's friend Kyle Sorel explained to us that Mercier ended up all in holding ace-jack versus someone's pocket kings. The board brought no help and Mercier was knocked out.

Mercier had previously cashed in the $25,000 High Roller and a $5,000 8-Max tournament at the PCA, but this marks his first ever Main Event cash.

Guillen Moves Over 200K

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

From under the gun plus one, Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen raised to 8,500. The cutoff called, and then Matt Stout called on the button. The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and action checked to Stout. He bet 15,500, and Guillen made the call. The cutoff seat folded.

The turn was the {10-Spades}, and both players checked. The river then completed the board with the {7-Hearts}. Both checked again.

Guillen showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, and Stout mucked his hand.
